I meant to post this last night but Path of Exile 2 has been kicking my ass! Lots of gaming going on the next while but, for this one, we are headed outside!
This is a little winter walk through my little wintery Canadian town.
Since Covid, there has been a local program during the early winter months that brings artistic and interactive light shows for the community to enjoy. One of the destinations is on an island that is on the waterway downtown. You can see the bridge over the river lit up as well as the island.
The first feature we visited was the SHROOMS! I didn't eat any of the magic kind for this visit but I could see how it might be pretty fun.
Plenty of bundled up people with their warm hats and dancing boots. 100 sets of wireless headphones for a nice quiet dance party.
DJ Lisa is on the 1s and 2s with her son spinning the funky stuff!
People of all sorts enjoying the lights and sights.
These ones are called Trumpet flowers and are pretty other-worldly.
I love taking shots like these for stock texture photos with local highlights people recognize and pay attention to. Pretty neat!
You can see the kids love them too as they play with the buttons they can press to add different parts to the music. So refreshing to see people out in the winter with the community, making music and having fun.
There is even a free shuttle that brings people back and forth from another location in the town square.
This one is called Emergence and sure makes for some neat photos.
So many angles to explore and music to hear inside and out.
Right next is Stargate which also features interesting patterns and neat ambient music.
This one looks like it was out of a video game or sci-fi movie.
Quite the frame to a picture or two as well. There is a perpetual line up to climb on and have a friend take a picture for all those instagram models and Hivers
The crowd thins out as the evening draws long. The free hot chocolate stand sponsored by rotating local businesses would have been nice this cold winter night.
Can't help but end this adventure with a shot of old city hall looming in the before the grey backdrop. Such a great break from hibernation for all and nice one for #wednesdaywalk
