You know how long it has been since the last Weekly Zekely? The last one included a foot of snowfall the night before. I am considering rebranding if next week is as busy as the last 3. Keep 'em wanting more.
Quite a few moments to get through so let's get to it!
Lazy Winter's End
It is easy to hibernate the end of winter away. I wish I could say I had a chance to or this little guy is this docile all the time.
I have dragged followers to the dog park all month as I try and head here once a day for an hour or so of frolicking. Mainly by this little guy who seems to have the time of his life every time.
The good news is I think I captured the last of the snow in this shot in town square, unless I have jinxed myself by saying so. A couple good #wednesdaywalk posts as well which I think everyone should consider making their daily content on hump day.
Music
I had the chance to visit a local music venue I had been meaning to many months. Discovering a professionally-rigged stage and drum booth permanently set up for small shows and open-mic nights was a nice surprise. Big things are on the horizon for this place and I will have to get into that as the story unfolds further.
FOOD!
There seemed to be an inordinate amount of food pics on my camera role for the past 3 weeks. New businesses are popping up as the spring sets up for a potentially busy summer and treats like these butter tarts are going to make tourists and locals alike pretty happy.
I visited a brand new restaurant and payed way too much for whisky and small plates. Not a great review and initial experience for me but the food was pretty damn good. The flavour was as good as the texture with the delightful pomegranate seeds in this humus dish.
Vinyl!
One busy #sublimesunday, I managed to sneak out to the end of a vinyl show and sale. This generally means me walking away $50 lighter but a few classic records richer for the collection. This one was special because it assembled some of the city's greatest collectors and a few of the most eccentric and prolific dealers. Even better was the epic venue and soundtrack coming from the turntables on the big stage. I showed a little restraint and only came home with The Beegees, Canadian rockers Triumph, and The Travelling Wilburies.
Evolution & Renovation
Another exciting development is the sudden and opportunistic expansion of
@town-crier / https://towncriermarketing.ca as we simultaneously added another member to the team, and secured the lease on our first commercial office space. plenty of work to do but we have the hands to make this into a chique meeting place, cool hangout, entrepreneur launchpad and gathering of marketing minds. This may take a good deal of my time going forward but busy is good and I will always try and share the adventure.
New Beginnings
The number of spring signs overwhelmingly suggest that winter is done. Our little town that pretends it is a city, or is it the other way around, is hoping for a huge summer of local and tourist business. I am simply working hard to contribute to as much as the wave as I can to keep the money local. Some of which comes to me and hopefully buys another summer of fun and camping with the family.
Beer
