I like to pause once a week and look back through my photos relive memorable moments, remember the forgotten ones, and reflect upon a busy week. Sharing them here helps me live in the moment...retroactively.
We are in peril of having it renamed the Bi-weekly Zekely based upon my regularity. The lockdown has eased which would have you expecting exponentially more photo-worthy exploits. Will there be too much work to have fun? Is anywhere cool open yet?
I started the week on sticks because of a little bout of tendinitis. No idea why it isn't spelled tendonitis but I have never had it may whole life. My better half immediately diagnosed it as gout in an effort to sabotage my beerblogging empire. She can't imagine the retirement fund the early adopters are of blockchain blogging and currency are building but that is understandable. I like to attribute it to too many years fending off Achilles locks in BJJ as that is much cooler sounding and probably more accurate.
I can walk around now and will see a sports therapist to get the real goods and make sure I can train and avoid that again.
One of the best things I heard while I froze my fingers shooting the live video was, "Black history is African history. It is world history and it is your history. You matter." Pretty heavy statement no matter who you are as I believe we are one people and racism should have been obsolete 40 years ago at least.
Levelling up one more time, we were able to attend the special 5-year anniversary show of the Revival Vinyl Society http://www.revivalvinylsociety.com/ to celebrate the reopening of in-door events under 50 people. It was a little strange speaking through masks to friends we had not seen since before the great hibernation but SO much better than these 4 walls and zoom. I got out plenty and really didn't slow down but a social gathering isn't something I figured I would miss much. So good to see D and hear the tunes, hang around other people and pound a pint.
Speaking of beer, there was beer! You can read about these 3 beauties from Great Lakes Brewing https://www.greatlakesbeer.com/ in my #beerSaturday post here @zekepickleman/beersaturday-great-beers-from-great-lakes I like to rebroadcast these posts on Twitter in order to connect with other, actively hive marketing folks and show the centralized media folks where they should be. I managed to connect with the brewery folks who appreciated the content, have new glassware on the way, and are unapologetic for the obsession with IPAs we share. There should be an @greatlakesbrewery on #hive!
Of course you have to soak it all in and grab some nice brunch. This is eggs benny english muffins with awesome steak cut fries and other healthy stuff. Chefs visited and relayed some of their secrets to the happy diners.
Winter is showing its first signs of wavering way up north here. The sun holds a touch of heat and is starting to battle the snow. A few warm days will have everyone seasonally forgetting we have at least 2 snow storms still to happen. I am looking forward to warmer weather, spring planting, and summer lounging. Just not fooled at how far off that is! Good thing I love all seasons.
We are into yellow/protect mode with most businesses open in a restricted manor. hopefully numbers will continue to head in the right direction as the vaccine is being administered to those outside of hospitals and long-term care facilities already.
