We are humans, and there is one special and interesting thing about us, and I call it adaptation, in literal meaning, it is a way of getting used to somethings like environment, time, weather, food, water, enjoyment, and even stress.
Subconsciously, we can get tired of a particular situation, but at the same time, there is what we call the usual, and so we are so used to being the usual version of us, and so when we change, either in lifestyle or environment, for the first couple of days or weeks, our body will indirectly get used to, in other words, adapt to the situation.
If an African travels aboard Africa, probably to the United States or to the United Kingdom, or the other way round, i.e someone from either the United States or the United Kingdom coming to our dear wonderful Africa, we all know that the time frames are different and so because the body is already used to an environment as it's usually habitat, so if 10pm is when the foreigners sleeps in their country,
and so if the time difference in Africa United Kingdom is 6hours, the foreigners might sleep 6 hours after 10 pm, and that should be around 4am, but after few days or weeks, the body will adapt to the changes in the environment...
Note: There are high chances of the body reacting to the changes, the same thing goes for our mental health...
Once our physical body is weak or doesn't feel to good, we'd look for a way to either get drugs or just something to make sure it's okay, but when it comes to our mental health, we just keep repeating this statement, don't worry, I'd be fine!
Well, no one said you won't be fine, but when we are mentally stressed, instead of just concluding for our minds, saying we'd be fine, and si our minds and mental stability and sensibility has already adapted to that statement, it tries it's best to be well, not withstanding, there are still high chances that you will mentally breakdown, and then we'd blame our heads, what's wrong with me, why I'm I not thinking straight, why do I feel like shouting, why do I feel like I'm running crazy, why does it feel like I have a lot to handle at a go? We get these feelings when we are mentally stressed...
I am one of those thousands or probably even millions of people out there that don't really take their mental health so seriously as I'm supposed to, its so important cause it one of the most efficient control panel of the body, we need to take care of it.
Sometimes when I'm mentally stressed, and I can't control it anymore, I'd just pour water on my head if I can't take my bath, and so I'd just sit down and look like a dead person, but if there's food, I'd eat, it makes me think less, and also, I watch movies, it drives whatever I'm thinking about to just the movie, so my mind is not clouded with lot of activities, and so the less you think, the recharged your mental strength becomes.
So the food and movie is like a charming distraction for peace in my head, and so I have a very free way to think...
I don't know how you control your mental health, but let me hear what you think of in the comment section...
Thank you all for your time, I appreciate...
