Myanmar border guards fired on the Rohingyas who had taken refuge in Bangladesh border in the Rakhine conflict.
Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGB) opened fire on the side of the border targeting Rohingya people who took shelter in the zero-level area of Tamundh area of Ghumdum union under Naikhangchhari upazila of Bandarban on Saturday noon.
Lieutenant Colonel Manjurul Hasan Khan, commander of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Cox's Bazar-34 Battalion, said this information.
He said, at around 1pm, Myanmar border guards fired three to four rounds aiming at Rohingya who took refuge in Bangladesh border. But no one was injured in the incident.
A senior officer of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) said that the alert was raised on the border between Bangladesh and Bangladesh.
According to the Myanmar government, international media reported that at least 30 people, including 12 members of the law enforcers, were killed in 30 police camps in Myanmar's Rakhine state on Thursday night.
The Rohingyas are trying to enter Bangladesh through the Cox's Bazar and Bandarban border between tensions and fears of the attack. But the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has alerted Rohingya refugees to Bangladesh again.
As a result, after entering Bangladesh from Friday, hundreds of helpless Rohingyas are sitting on the banks of the river Naf river, around four kilometers. Already about two hundred Rohingyas have been sent back to Myanmar during the infiltration bid in Bangladesh.
It is to be noted that in recent years, Bangladesh has taken refuge in more than 500,000 Rohingya refugees due to ethnic persecution in Myanmar for decades. The Muslim Rohingyas are refusing to accept the Rohingyas as their own citizens.
