Right, so I have outlines the Universal Stratagems and the concept of how a to build a Warhammer 40,000 Army and thus, we now look at our first Army Rule, that of the Orks!

Army Rules for Orks

Waaagh!

Overview: This is the main rule that the Orks use that is unique to them. All Ork armies get this rule and it is important to understand how it works because all unit abilities, Detachment bonuses and Stratagems are likely to use it, be influenced by it or can be used together with it to create a Synergy.

  • Ork units can re-roll Advance rolls.
  • Ork units can become Riled Up
While a unit is Riled Up, it gains the following abilities:
  • The unit has a 5+ Invulnerable Save
  • The unit can Charge in a turn it Advanced
  • Ranged weapons the unit has, gains the Assault keyword (meaning they can Advance and shoot)

War Cry

Once per game, at the start of the Command Phase, use this ability, until the end of the next turn, all Ork units are Riled Up

Conclusion: This is the part that the Ork player yells Waaagh!!! at the top of their lungs... they get to use it once per game. All Orks can re-roll their Advance roll, thus getting them the extra movement. With the Riled Up rule, they can both shoot and charge after making that advance.

Da Boss

At the start of your Command Phase, if a model with this rule is your Warlord, you gain an additional 1CP.
So if you designate another model as the Warlord (why would you?) then it will do you no good!

Unstable Energies

Basically, Ork Psykers have levels. Level 1 can use 1x Level 1 Ability a turn. A Level 3 can use 3x Level 1 powers, 1x Level 2 and a 1x Level 1 or 1x Level 3 power.

This is very similar to old Psyker abilities. And the Space Marines got the same in their 11th Ed Codex.

And there you have it... the Army Rules of the Orks.
