Patience is a virtue

Today has been a bit of a bloody day in crypto world. Bitcoin is down, as are alts. Steem is down a bit, as is SBD. All in all, everything's a little gloomy.

I think now would be a good time to add a third animal to the market linguo: the Snail.

I joined the crypto life at an interesting and exciting time. Everything was on the up, and everyone was optimistic. Bitcoin was approaching its ATH and the USD value of alts were insane. SBD was trading at 15 dollars and Steem seemed to be curling up, showing signs of explosive growth.

Of course, not every day can be a bull run. Corrections are normal and to be expected, but nevertheless, it's tough seeing your equity go down more than it goes up over the course of a day, or a few days. That uncertainty that always seems to be diminished on bullrun days comes out to play when the markets are down and I can't help but feel unsure about all my holdings.

Indeed, these are the days that words like "one day the bubble will pop" come around to haunt me.

Strong hands

In spite of all that, I'm not deterred. I do not have weak hands and I'm committed to my investments. If there's anything I've learned, at times like these the ones who hold are the ones who gain the most. A dollar spent today could be two dollars spent tomorrow, and I've heard stories of friends who sold their Bitcoin when it was 1000, 2000, and whom all realized great profits, but once Bitcoin hit 10000 they started to feel the FOMO.

Steem has held very well through the corrections and the last four or five days, to say the least, have shown that Steem is resilient and capable of holding its own through these turbulent times. SBD has been a little more tenuous, to say the least, showing fluctuations in the high 60s and 50s, and at the time of writing, dipping down into the 40s. SBD pumps lately seem to bring up the price about 10%, but these are short lived and the price resumes its prevailing trend.

In terms of my other holdings, I'm currently in ZCash(ZEC), Lumen (XLM) and Ethereum Classic (ETC). I'm hoping for some growth in ETC as Ethereum continues to climb, but it remains to be seen if ETH's gains will trickle down there. At the moment, it seems to be trading in the low 30s, slightly below my buy-in (average 36.8).
