Craving for things and aversion for things happens because of the minds clinging to things and ideas and reactions
this clinging is mostly based around an idea that things can be lastingly satisfying but given the impermanent nature of phenomena nothing can be lastingly satisfying, and this discrepancy is what allows for stress and suffering to arise in the conscious mind
buddhism, the entire dharma and its teachings, are basically a skillful perception of the entirety of conceivable reality where clinging falls away because phenomena are seen in a perspective where we cant see any self in them, we use a perception to make them have nothing to do with us, which deprives them of the energy and interest from the mind that they need to continue
when everything in our phenomenological reality is seen as non-self, including the feeling of having a self, you get complete freedom from all stress and suffering permanently, and a complete unbinding of the mind from any particular scenario or realm of thought or dimension/realm of existence
to the people who dont like it when buddhism claims to have the ultimate truth, fine, its only ultimate within its own terms
remember buddhism is a perception of the entirety of conceivable reality, including itself, and its ultimate truth is the principle this perception is based on
its a skillful perception of our senses that releases stress, it doesnt actually have anything to do with external reality
but entirely internal perceptions of external reality
so guys, try to let go of your metaphysical clinging and just meditate, it all works, its awesome.
