I often wonder how people can fall for these scams. You think it has to be some complete noob falling for stuff like this.
But if you remember in the last cycle there were these videos on YouTube. Elon Musk feels generous, send him 1 BTC he will send you back 2 BTC.
One of my friends actually messaged me with that. "I met this famous person once. You should do this." I couldn't believe it. This is a real person I know falling for an obvious scam. And then it becomes obvious how people could get sucked into ICOs in 2017, jpegs in 2021, stablecoins, "100% money back guarantee", etc.
One morning I asked in a telegram group why nobody is talking about the rumor amazon would be accepting crypto soon when we were talking about the news for the week.
I still feel regarded for thinking it could be real. It happens to all of us. Even people that are typically on top of these sort of things. If 1 million people see it and know instantly its a obvious scam, it only takes 0.0001% of people for 1 to not catch it by either not being fully awake, distracted, or whatever it is that doesn't cause their flag to trigger.
