₹400, 40 KM & One Very Wet Adventure
7:00 PM. Najafgarh.
I picked up my scooter, opened the delivery apps and started riding.
No big plan.
Just a simple target: go out, work a few hours, earn something, and see where the road takes me.
Little did I know, the road was going to take me somewhere I definitely didn't plan to go. 😂
Tonight I worked with Swiggy and Shadowfax.

or auditioning for an off-road adventure. 😂
I finally contacted the customer.
She told me:
“No, no... you need to come to a different address.”
Of course.
So back on the scooter.
New destination.
New route.
New adventure.
And the road to the new address?
Let's just say the word “development” seemed to have taken a day off.
Broken stretches, potholes and a road that made me slow down and carefully pick my way through.
😂 And then something interesting happened...
After all that trouble, I ended up getting three different orders on the same road.
So the road that had already tested my patience suddenly became my temporary delivery zone.
At least I knew the battlefield now. 😅
🛵 But honestly... I enjoyed it.
This might sound strange after everything I just described.
But I actually enjoy riding.
I like being on a bike or scooter, moving around, discovering different roads and seeing parts of the city that I normally wouldn't.
So even though the roads were terrible and the address situation was frustrating, I wasn't sitting there thinking:
“Why am I doing this?”
Instead, I was thinking:
“Okay... what's the next order?”
And that's probably what I like most about this hustle.
Every order is a little unpredictable.
You don't know where the next notification is going to take you.
💰 Day 1 — The Numbers
⏰ Hustle window: 7 PM – 11 PM
🛵 Active riding/work: ~3 hours
📦 Deliveries: 6
🛣️ Distance: ~40 KM
💰 Earnings: ~₹400
⚡ Electricity used: ~1.5 units
💡 Electricity cost: ~₹10
🚲 Vehicle: Low-speed EV scooter
So roughly ₹400 came in, while the electricity cost for today's ride was only around ₹10.
Of course, electricity isn't the only cost.
There is maintenance, tyres, depreciation, phone/data, and eventually the biggest cost of all:
my time.
That's something I want to understand properly during this journey.
🎯 Why am I doing this?
This isn't just about earning ₹400.
I'm doing these rides for a bigger reason.
Some of this money will help me handle my EMIs.
And some of it will help me fuel my startup dreams.
That's what makes today's ₹400 feel different.
It's not a fortune.
But it's a small amount of money earned honestly, kilometre by kilometre, delivery by delivery.
And those small amounts can eventually become something much bigger.
₹400 today.
Maybe ₹500 tomorrow.
Maybe something completely different a year from now.
I don't know yet.
And that's exactly why I'm documenting the journey.

I'm trying to build something one small win at a time.
Tonight it was ₹400.
Tomorrow, let's see what the road has waiting for me.
