(Eng-Esp) Cute hair accessory, made with zippers.

Happy start of the week to all the creative people, who make life and share their creations in this community. Today I'm going to share with you a nice way to recycle zippers, from some pants or bags that we no longer use. The ones I used for this creative project, I recovered them from a school bag of my daughter which was already very deteriorated and the zipper was damaged, I took the task to take it off and I thought of making a nice hair ornament with it, since it has its metal teeth and it looks nicer, so I will tell you how easy it is to make a hair ornament, giving a second chance to the zippers.

Materials.

✓ Zippers.
✓ Black fabric
✓ Scissors
✓ Thread and needle.
✓ White pearl
✓ Silicone gun and silicone stick.
✓ Ruler
✓ Hair clip.

Step by step.

I started by separating the zipper, I told you that this one was from my daughter's school bag, therefore it is quite long, it is about 90 centimeters, so one side will be enough for my project. I cut out 7 pieces of zipper of 6 centimeters each, then with a match, I burned the sides slightly to seal and prevent it from fraying over time.

Next, with thread and needle, I went through the fabric side of the zipper piece and then I folded and joined the two sides, without much pressure because what I am looking for is precisely that semi-circular shape and in this way I folded my seven pieces of zippers, which will be the petals of a flower.

Cut a circle of dark blue fabric with a radius of 4 centimeters, which will serve as a base to assemble the petals. I am going to place the petals with a slight inclination to give us a nice effect at the end. I place each petal I fix it with thread and needle, it can also be done with hot silicone, and the next petal will be placed by matching the golden part of the zipper at one end, with the same part of the next petal, and so on until culminating with the seven, taking into account that we must be trying to give the shape of the flower.

I already have my flower and it looks very pretty, now I proceed to cut 10 centimeters of the zipper and I remove all the fabric side, I will only use the metal part, and to seal I quickly pass a lit match along the edge that I cut. With the help of a needle and thread, I roll up the zipper and fasten it with the thread as I go around, passing the needle over and under the zipper.

This zipper circle that represents the central part of the flower, I fix it with hot silicone and in its hole I glue a white pearl, to highlight it.

To finish I cut out a circle of dark blue fabric and cover the back of the flower, for a clean finish, and then proceed to glue my flower on the hair clip, and that's how we have a nice hair ornament or accessory ready.

I hope you like it and encourage you to do it at home, keep in mind that there are many things that we think are no longer useful, but with a little creativity we can take advantage of disused materials.

El día de hoy voy a compartir con ustedes una linda manera de reciclar cremalleras, de algunos pantalón o bolsos que ya no usamos. Las que yo use para este proyecto creativo, las recupere del un bolso escolar de mi hija el cual ya estaba muy deteriorado y la cremallera estaba dañada, me tomé la tarea de despegarlo y pensé en realizar con el un lindo adorno para el cabello, ya que este tiene sus dientes de metal y se ve más bonito, así es que a continuación les diré lo fácil que es realizar un adorno para el cabello, dándole una segunda oportunidad a las cremalleras.

Paso a paso

Comencé separando la cremallera, les dije que está esta era del bolso escolar mi hija, por la tanto es bastante larga, media unos 90 centímetros, así que un solo lado será suficiente para mí proyecto. Recorte 7 trozos de cremallera de 6 centímetros cada uno, luego con un cerillo, queme a los lados ligeramente para sellar y así se evita se vaya deshilando con el tiempo.

A continuación, con hilo y aguja, fui pasando por el lado de tela del trozo de cremallera y luego arruche y uni los dos lados, sin hacer mucha presión porque lo que busco es precisamente esa forma semi circular y de esta manera arruche mis siete trozos de cremalleras, las cuales serán los pétalos de una flor.

Corte un círculo de tela azul oscuro de 4 centímetros de radio, que nos servirá de base para ir ensamblando los pétalos. Los pétalos los voy a colocar con una leve inclinación para que al final nos de un lindo efecto. Coloco cada pétalos lo fijo con hilo y aguja, también se puede hacer con silicona caliente, y el siguiente pétalos de colocará haciendo que coincidan la parte dorada de la cremallera de un extremo, con la misma parte del siguiente pétalos, y así sucesivamente hasta culminar con los siete, tomando en cuenta que debemos ir procurando dar la forma de la flor.

Ya tengo mi flor y ya así se ve muy bonita, ahora procedo a cortar 10 centímetros de la cremallera y le quito todo el lado de tela, solo ocuparé la parte metálica, y para sellar paso rápidamente un cerillo encendido por todo el borde que corte. Con ayuda de aguja con hilo, voy enrollado la cremallera y sujetando con el hilo a medida que doy vueltas , pasando la aguja por encima y por debajo de la cremallera.

Este círculo de cremallera que representa la parte central de la flor, la fijo con silicona caliente y en su orificio pegue una perla blanca, para mayor resalte.

Para finalizar recorte un círculo de tela azul oscuro y cubro la parte posterior de la flor, para un acabado limpio, para proceder entonces a pegar mi flor en el pinza para el cabello, y es así como tenemos listo un lindo adorno o accesorio para el cabello.

Espero sea de su agrado y se animen a realizar en casa, tengamos en cuenta que hay muchas cosas que pensamos que ya no son útiles, pero con un poco de creatividad podemos sacar provecho de materiales en desuso.
