Everyone makes mistakes. It’s human! I’ve made mistakes as well and I’ve carefully gone through articles from top Steemians and from really new people. I’ve seen amazing articles and some that are really bad and should be removed on the spot. So let me give you some pointers on mistakes you can avoid!
Voting on only trending posts
Don’t do this. The trending posts got a lot of rewards and you want to get some of that pie as well. Well.. You won’t get any curation rewards from those articles. Instead look for the new, fresh and exciting content that is written with care and people didn’t up vote yet but got a potential to get a lot of up votes after you’ve voted. Then you will get some sweet curation rewards.
Comment or ask for follow for follow
It’s useless. They don’t help you get the good followers you actually want. Leave a good and well written comment behind on someone’s blogpost and interact with others. When you speak from the heart and like what you’re saying, they will follow you. Leave a good impressions behind!
You have to engage with others!
What is even more important than posting and promoting your posts? Yes, engaging. Without engagement you won’t get upvotes, thus no rewards. You want to create a group of people around you with likeminded content and help each other out or even become friends!
