The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. – Abraham Lincoln
You must take things one day at a time. It doesn’t matter how difficult a situation becomes, you can only get through it by doing things in this manner. Believe me, you will overcome any obstacle if you don’t look too far into the future and focus on the present. So how can you get to the point you want to be at without overworking? The answer is simple; you must set priorities.
You Must Set Priorities
You must set a list of priorities, and then learn how to meet each and every one of them. It is however important to remember that not all are equal. Some will have to be done today, while others can wait until another day.
You should prioritise your tasks, into short term, mid-range and long term goals. Mid-range goals for example; may require some form of research, time to implement, or even require you to undertake classes or learn new skills. Prioritising will help you greatly in taking things one day at a time; since you will be able to see clearly what tasks must be met on a daily basis. This will in turn help you to maintain balance in your day-to-day life. When you do things in this manner, you are able to identify exactly what is happening in your life. You are able to slow down and think. You may then realise that perhaps you are not ready yet to tackle a project, problem or task, which would have otherwise forced you to quit.
When you approach life by living one day at a time, you will find that it gets easier day by day. You are also more likely to not give up, when you take things one day at a time.Always remember – It is not how much or how hard you work each day, but what you receive from that work in the end that counts.
