I'm a storyteller and a performance artist. Beyond that, I prefer to let my work speak on its own terms.
I prefer maintaining a relative amount of anonymity, mostly due to the relative freedom of speech it allows. That is to say, I prefer operating from behind the mask of a username, because the username then becomes a vessel for the thoughts, ideas and interactions that create a persona tied specifically to the mask. Since a fair amount of the work I do is concerned with challenging conventional perspectives in surprising ways (you'll discover the intricacies of this statement as I add content in the times ahead), and because I can be a bit of a firebrand from time to time, I have found that the mask creates a layer of abstraction that allows for the ideas and stories to be judged in their own right and not simply as an extension of the 'me' that my face implies. It's also a bit of an experiment for me, to see how much of an impact the idea of A Nomad Soul can have.
In time, the intention is to take off the mask, but only once the goals (which I'll only reveal at that time) have been reached. A Nomad Soul is ultimately intended as a facet of a larger super-secret performance art piece called Imikhosi Yemithunzi (working title) which I'll be developing and constructing in stages over the next 10 years. So in 2027, all of the weird and cryptic things I will be saying, making and doing will at last make sense. Hopefully.
If they don't, I'll concede that I am an actual crazy person and happily commit myself to the first asylum that will accept me.
Trying to build an audience. Also, blockchains are the future, and I'd like to get in early.
And reason number 3 - Steemit seems (at least from the documentation I've read) to be exactly the kind of platform that the internet needs for breaking the stranglehold of the "haves and have-nots" paradigm that has led to Africa being almost non-existent online. Since I'm all for getting Africa online and on the world stage in a way that isn't "look at those poor savages, starving while being murdered by disease and themselves", I figure Steemit could potentially be an avenue to explore for introducing folks here on the "Dark Continent" to the wonders of e-commerce.
I'll dedicate a few future posts to examining and expanding on #ReasonThree, and I would love to have some fiery, productive and ultimately insightful debates on those posts when they arrive.

Well, I'm not going to tell you all of it (because I haven't actually thought that far ahead. I'm a one-step-at-a-time kind of Nomad).
For the next few weeks, while I figure out the nuances of Steemit and get to grips with what kind of community this actually is, I'll be posting old short stories and the occasional essay, while at the same time poking around on other folks' posts and profiles to see how it all works.
Once I'm settled in, I'll start working on weekly challenges, where I write a short story according to rules imposed by the community. Obviously, I'll have a system in place to make that work (I have an idea, I just need to build it - I am always open to feedback and suggestions though). And naturally, I'll post a post that announces and explains it all, when it's up and running.
