Decisions can be challenging and sometimes inconvenient but when the right one is taken it could change our lives positively, and we'd be glad we made that decision, it takes courage to make a decision. Most times we end up making the wrong decisions thinking it will be better but we try to find our way back, In the process, we are likely to hurt other people's feelings.

Here is an experience that led to a decision that changed my life

Three years ago, after graduating from the University, I was eager to change my environment, I needed to go somewhere I could be able to get a job, save up and get my school clearance done then go for my service, initially that was my intention, so I called my uncle who lives in a nearby state told him what I wanted and he assured me I was going to get a job and he will assist in getting my clearance done, I excitedly accepted so the following day I traveled down to his place. His entire family welcomed me. I was finally settled a month later I was ready to hunt for a job no matter the pay, all I wanted was to leave the house in the morning and then come back in the evening.

It was during the process pandemic came into Nigerian, and everywhere was on lockdown, at that moment I was tired of everything around me, staying at home doing nothing, the worst part was if I wanted anything I had to ask his wife she would get it for me even the least stuff like "undies".

One day I went to my uncle to remind him of my reasons for coming to his place, his response was: that anyone staying in his house was not allowed to work and that I should be patient and just stay, that someone would just come and marry me.

I smiled and left, I went to the room, sat down, and said to myself, I can't continue like this, this is not the life I would want for myself.

After the pandemic i decided to leave, cause there was no future for me here, so I gathered all the courage I could and walked up to his wife to tell her about my decision, she asked me why, and told her it was nothing related to her or my uncle I just needed to sort something out, then I thanked her for allowing me stay this long.

That was how I left my uncle's house went back to my family house, got a little job, and with support from family and loved ones I was able to get my nysc clearance done. Here I am today, done with my service, currently working as an accountant in a security company.

I am not where I want to be but I know I'm no longer where I used to be, thats what I'm super proud of.

Lesson:
Life isn't full of roses, it's our right to create a life full of roses, I've learned location isn't a bearer often times we are the problems of ourselves.
