About a week ago, I started playing a game on Hive called “Hive Grove,” created by Van Patrick (@shiftrox). In the game, you own plots of land where you can care for trees of different species, from their early stages until they become mature trees. Up to that point, I thought that was all there was to it. To be honest, at first I didn’t see anything particularly innovative about it, since there are other games with similar mechanics. However, three days ago I had the time and the inclination to take a closer look, and believe me, I really liked what I found.

Hace apenas una semana aproximadamente me adentre a un juego que esta dentro de Hive, se llama "Hive Grove" y fue creado por Van Patrick (@shiftrox), En el juego eres dueño de parcelas donde puedes cuidar árboles de diferentes especies que van desde sus primeras etapas hasta que se convierten en árboles adultos. Hasta allí creí que iba todo, les cuento que en un principio no veía algo innovador porque se sabe de juegos que llevan una dinámica similar, sin embargo, tres días atras tuve el tiempo y la disposición para revisar y lo que encontré, crean que me gustó muchísimo.

When you start the game, it welcomes you with an oak sapling—the most basic of them all. Among the trees you can buy are the willow, the maple, the cherry, and the pine—just those for now. Each has its own characteristics, designs, and special features. You can water them daily and receive rewards in Hive; you also have the option to buy some basic and tech items that speed up the waiting time so your tree can evolve. That was my first experience—the best was yet to come.

Cuando llegas el juego te da la bienvenida con un tallo de un roble, el más básico de todos, entre los árboles que puedes comprar está el Sauce, el Arce, el Cerezo y el Pino, por ahora solo esos. Cada uno con sus características, diseños y con notacion especial. Puedes regarlos diariamente y recibir recompensas líquidas en Hive, además tienes la posibilidad de comprar unos ítems básicos y tecnológicos que aceleran el tiempo de espera para que tú árbol pueda evolucionar. Hasta ahí fue mi primera experiencia, lo bueno estaba por venir.

The game was designed with the goal of engaging every participant. There is a leaderboard that tracks in-game actions. You have a list of daily tasks you must complete to earn points, move up the ranks, and secure a spot at the top of the season’s standings. Throughout the season, a prize pool accumulates and will be distributed among the Hive users who hold the top spots in the leaderboard. Right now, in just 4 or 5 days, the total has already surpassed 1,000 Hive.

El juego está creado con una visión de involucrar a cada uno de sus participantes. Hay una tabla de clasificación con un contador de las acciones dentro del juego. Tienes una lista de tareas diarias que debes realizar para acumular puntos para ascender y ubicarte en los primeros puestos de la temporada. Durante todo este proceso a lo largo de la temporada hay un bote que se va acumulando para repartirlo entre los hivers que ostenten los primeros puestos de la clasificación. Ahora mismo, en apenas 4 o 5 días en acumulado rebasa los 1000 Hive.

One way to earn points is to go to the campfire, a community chat where you can start topics and interact with other Hivers. There’s also a music area that gives you points for listening to tracks; watering other Hivers’ trees also earns you points, as does giving souvenirs to other Hivers and completing various other tasks—most of which encourage you to connect with other Hivers. For me, this is one of the most valuable aspects of the game.

Una de las formas de obtener puntos es ir a la fogata, un chat comunitario donde se pueden crear temas y compartir con otros hivers, también hay una zona musical que te otorga puntos al escuchar las pistas, regar los árboles de otros hivers también te entrega puntos, regalar algunos souvenirs a otros hivers y varias otras tareas que te invitan en su mayoría a conectar con otro hivers. Para mí esto es una de las cosas más valiosas del juego.

It’s definitely a game that’s already making waves. Hive Grove players who’ve been there from the start say that in recent days there’s been a noticeable surge in new players. That’s great news. I’m just getting started, and I’ve already noticed a friendly atmosphere—the community is very welcoming and always willing to help with any questions you might have. Finally, I’d like to mention that an update was recently released, which shows the developers’ commitment to improving the experience. So, anyway, I'd give Hive Grove a 20 out of 20.

Sin duda es un juego que ya está dando de que hablar, comentan los hivers que están desde un principio que estos últimos días se nota el repunte significado de nuevos jugadores. Eso es una noticia muy buena, yo apenas voy llegando y he podido observar un ambiente agradable, la comunidad es muy atenta, no dudan en ayudarte con tus inquietudes. Por último les menciono que recientemente se ha ejecutado una actualización que muestra el interés de los desarrolladores por mejorar la experiencia. Asi que bueno a Hive Grove le doy un 20/20.
