En mi casa seguimos algunas de las tradiciones más comunes, pero mi favorita siempre ha sido poner el Pesebre, por algunos años había dejado de hacerlo sobre todo en la época de crisis más fuerte en el país, pero desde que mis nietos están en edad de ayudarme ha nacido una nueva tradición , esta consiste en hacer el Pesebre con ayuda de mis nietos, tengo ya tres años haciéndolo de ese modo, el primer año me ayudó solamente mi nieta Antonietta, al segundo año ya me ayudaron mis otros dos nietos Lucas y Rafael, este año Lucas y Antonietta no pudieron venir pero me ayudó Rafael, aun así el solo hecho de ellos me ayuden me motiva, yo soy creyente que en estas fechas la unión familiar es muy importante, por eso siento que estoy compartiendo tiempo de calidad con mis nietos al hacer el Pesebre.
In my house we follow some of the most common traditions, but my favorite has always been putting up the Manger, for a few years I had stopped doing it, especially during the time of the strongest crisis in the country, but since my grandchildren are of the age of helping me a new tradition has been born, this consists of making the Nativity with the help of my grandchildren, I have been doing it this way for three years now, the first year only my granddaughter Antonietta helped me, the second year my other two grandchildren Lucas and Rafael, this year Lucas and Antonietta couldn't come but Rafael helped me, even so the mere fact of them helping me motivates me, I am a believer that on these dates family union is very important, that's why I feel that I'm sharing quality time with my grandchildren when doing the Nativity
Para mi es importante el Pesebre porque representa el motivo principal la Navidad, es decir, el nacimiento de Jesús, en Venezuela solemos poner el Pesebre con adornos de figuras muy variadas, yo uso ovejas pero también hay animales de granja como cerditos, chivos y vacas, me gusta la idea de que el pesebre se parezca un poco a campo de Venezuela, también agregó algunas plantas secas y cactus. Aunque cualquier tipo de Pesebre es bonito en cualquier hogar el de mi casa es especial porque lo hice con mis nietos.
For me the Nativity scene is important because it represents the main reason for Christmas, that is, the birth of Jesus, in Venezuela we usually put the Nativity scene with ornaments of very varied figures, I use sheep but there are also farm animals such as pigs, goats and cows I like the idea that the nativity scene looks a bit like the countryside of Venezuela, also added some dry plants and cacti. Although any type of Nativity is beautiful in any home, the one in my house is special because I did it with my grandchildren.
En mi familia acostumbramos a hacer las hallacas , hubo años en que no se hizo por dificultades económicas, pero volvimos a la tradición de hacer este delicioso plato navideño, desde que murió mi esposo la costumbre es quedarme en casa con mi hija

La noche del 31 volvemos a cenar pero esta vez yo trato de mantenerme despierta hasta la medianoche escuchando la radio, me gustan mucho las gaitas y los villancicos, además mi tradición escuchar las campanadas para celebrar el año en una emisora de mi ciudad que es la más antigua de todas. Luego me voy a ver lo fuegos artificiales que desde mi casa se ven mucho, me gusta cuando son de colores y de ese modo llamo a mi familia si las líneas telefónicas me lo permiten, luego antes de acostarme me pongo en oración agradeciendo a Dios por otro año de vida y lleno de sus bendiciones.
On the night of the 31st we have dinner again but this time I try to stay awake until midnight listening to the radio, I really like the bagpipes and Christmas carols, and it is also my tradition to listen to the chimes to celebrate the year on a station in my city which is the oldest of all. Then I go to see the fireworks that can be seen a lot from my house, I like when they are colored and that's how I call my family if the telephone lines allow me, then before I go to bed I pray thanking God for another year of life and full of his blessings.
