Wildlife photography often finds us in the most unexpected refuges. I took this photograph on the exact same rainy morning when I went out to capture my Asphalt Mirrors series. While seeking shelter from the downpour inside a church's drainage system, I encountered these two little companions.

Although the sky remained overcast, the early dawn had shifted into full morning light, casting a soft, moody glow over their shell textures and delicate tentacles. It’s fascinating how quiet life persists and finds a way to thrive right in the middle of urban architecture during a storm.

(If you want to explore the complete series and context from that morning, feel free to check out my Asphalt Mirrors post).
