English Version
Continuing down 30th Street during a rainy early morning, I arrived at El Manteco—a vibrant district where commerce, Christianity, Yoruba Santería, Babalawos, and rich syncretism converge. Candles, incense, and religious icons line the surroundings.
In the middle of the street, I found a massive puddle reflecting around 30 aligned lights like stars in a dark sky. It felt magical to watch the earth turn into the sky and the sky encompass everything, leaving only the center of the frame dedicated to El Manteco and its glowing reflections.
