Happy Sunday everyone! Today we celebrate Jean's birthday!
Jean is a 5 star character in Genshin Impact who is known in Mondstadt as the Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius.
As you can see, I have not been very active. School is a bit tough and today is the last day that I have a free time. Second semester is starting tomorrow and schedule will be from Monday to Sunday. Anyways, I have a good news! I am not going to draw with my fingers anymore. I finally have a pen tablet and I just purchased Clip Studio Paint Pro since it is 50% off. Schedule is gonna be crowded but I will still try to find time to draw.
That aside, here's my process for my first artwork using Clip Studio Paint Pro x Huion Kamvas Pro 16 Premium.
Sketch
Usual thing that I do in my drawings is the sketch. It's not so much detailed since it's gonna take a lot of time and effort.
Line art
I still don't skip line art since I want it to look clean. You can also notice that some lines overlap each other. It is because I did the hand in a different layer so I can adjust it without ruining the body. Line art also still lack details since I decided to put the details in colored already. Also, I don't want to tire myself out.
Base Color
I always put the base color so I have a guide and so that I can do lighting and shading continuously.
Shading and Lighting
In shading and lighting, aside from using light and dark color, I used layer effects such as "multiply" to create a darker color and "add" to create shiny effect.
Skin, Eyes, and Hair
Clothes
Cape and Hand
Background and Effects
Lastly is the background and effects. I painted sky for the background and applied gaussian blur. I also added a glowing dandelion since it is Jean's ascension material.
Reference used was the Character Archive in Genshin Impact Game
That's all everyone. Thank you for your support!
I'm going to miss publishing contents since I'm about to be busy again.
