It is sad the way that people treat property in the modern world. The tax and zoning laws in the United States essentially punish owners who try to improve their property. It is not uncommon to see people intentially let property goes. Once a property becomes an eye-soar the community rezones the property and gives tax incentives to tear down and rebuild.
