As I walking around the streets of the city where I live, I spotted this old abandoned house. It was standing there alone, between two- and three-story modern houses.

Built , probably, around 1930s or 1940s, now completely destroyed. Just, the walls are standing to remind us that a person or a family lived there.

The wooden door of the entrance had been taken away and so was the window on the right.

But then the window on the left, tightly shut, as if it still had to safekeep the house. Loyal to its cause till the end.

Τhe railings that surrounded the house were mostly rusty, due to the fact that no one cared anymore. The paint was washed off and the brownish colour of rust was the main colour.

But then again,on these railings there was a small vine blooming. It had found support on them and it kept growing, filling the iron rusty railing with his green leaves... winning over the brownish colour of decay.

Though I was looking the ruins of a house, I felt strangely calm. Because even in this scene of decomposition, nature always wins!

(All the photos were taken by me with the help of my mobile phone. The ruins of the house in the pictures is located in a small town of Northern Greece).
