It is unbelievable that just a little over a month ago the winter was completely snowless, wet and warm. These are ideal conditions for mushroom growth, so one day in early January I took a walk in the woods near my house to find some interesting specimens of mushrooms and take interesting photos. Of course, I did not expect to find something edible (except for Flammulina, which I have not yet dared to pick up, because I am very careful in expanding my mushroom menu, or oyster mushrooms. But to come across some Polypores that grow on trees both in summer and winter, it was possible without effort. The first thing I came across were some woody mushrooms on the stump. These were not classic Polypores or, for example, Trametes versicolor (also called turkey tail), here unfortunately, I could not identify them.

But these mushrooms clearly belong to the genus Trametes, only the species I could not determine. But the stripes parallel to the edges, characteristic of these fungi, quite accurately indicate the genus.

And this mushroom, located high on a tree (it seems that it was an aspen) - this is clearly Fomes fomentarius. I have always been amazed by the ability of these mushrooms to grow evenly in all directions. With such a uniform expansion, they grow in such a way that the branches of trees are inside the body of the fungus. This is clearly seen in the second and third photos below this text.

Well, at the end of this story about the hunt for mushroom photos, another photo of a mushroom on a stump, covered with a blackberry leaf. It seems that he was trying to hide from me 😊Ну і на завершення цієї розповіді про полювання за грибними фотографіями ще одно фото гриба на пеньку, прикритого ожиновим листочком.
