I was walking along Aristigueta Avenue and took the opportunity to snap a few photos. The Manzanares River is clearly visible from here; it looks quite revitalized thanks to the rains that have fallen on the city in recent days and have, to some extent, provided relief from the heat.
Walking near this natural waterway is quite pleasant, especially when songbirds accompany you along the way. From here, you can see Guaquerí Park; there used to be access from this street, but the walkways have deteriorated and can no longer be used. The metal gave way very quickly to the ravages of humidity and the sun.
The Santa Inés Church is also visible from this vantage point; its bell tower rises above the houses and alleys that connect this avenue to the Historic District. I love these views.
The afternoon was cool, and the trees were at their greenest. Since it was a weekday, the street was bustling with activity. Several people could be seen relaxing on the benches near the river, as the atmosphere is perfect for taking a break and disconnecting from the stresses of daily life—just as I’m doing right now.

Me encontraba por la Avenida Aristigueta y aproveché para tomar algunas fotografías. El río Manzanares desde acá se aprecia muy bien, luce bastante recuperado gracias a las lluvias que en los últimos días se han precipitado sobre la ciudad y en cierta forma han contrarrestado el calor.

La tarde estaba fresca y los árboles lucían su mejor verdor. Al ser un día de semana, había mucho movimiento en la calle. Se miraban varias personas reposando en los bancos que están cerca del río, pues el ambiente se presta para descansar un rato y desconectarse de las angustias cotidianas, tal como lo estoy haciendo ahora.
