Diy Sewing Machine Pincushion

Greetings to all the beautiful Community Hive DIY this project today is a project of wanting to have beautiful things in my workplace, of inspiration, those details that make us feel in an environment of much love.

A couple of months ago I made a Diy Case for Scissors and Pattern using a fabric with a floral print that I liked much. Today I wanted to make another Accessory for my Sewing Machine using the same fabric, so that they look like a Sewing Kit.

Saludos a toda la hermosa Comunidad Hive DIY este proyecto de hoy es un proyecto de ganas de querer tener cosas lindas en mi lugar de trabajo, de inspiración, esos detalles que nos hacen sentir en un ambiente de mucho amor.

Hace un par de meses hice un Diy Funda para Tijeras y Patrón utilizando una tela con estampado floral que me gustaba mucho. Hoy quise realizar otro Accesorio para mi Máquina de Coser utilizando la misma tela, de manera que se vean como un Kit de Costura.

I had also previously made an Organizing Pincushion that I really like, I wanted one that was located on my sewing machine , and it is never too much to have things that give us the immediacy and comfort that we want. So, I invite you to see this new Diy that is very easy and quick, but its result gave me great satisfaction.

También había realizado anteriormente un Alfiletero Organizador que me gusta mucho, quería uno que estuviese ubicado en mi máquina de coser, y es que nunca está demás tener cosas que nos brinden la inmediatez y comodidad que queremos. De manera que, los invito a ver este nuevo Diy que es muy fácil y expedito, pero que me dio mucha satisfacción su resultado.

As I mentioned, it is a very easy and expeditious project, the important thing is its functionality and the design in combination, therefore there are very few materials:

Como les mencioné es un proyecto muy fácil y expedito, lo importante es su funcionalidad y el diseño en combinación, por ende son muy pocos los materiales:

I am going to work with some combination fabric with my previous project, I will only need a little fabric to make a rectangle and two strips.

Voy a trabajar con un poco de tela de combinación con mi proyecto anterior, necesitaré solo un poco de tela para realizar un rectángulo y dos tiras.

The rectangle that will be the pincushion itself, will have a size or dimensions of 10 cm by 16 cm with the fabric folded. For greater comfort, I folded the fabric and marked 8 cm, which after opening will have 16 cm. and the 10 cm remain simple. With this we have the piece ready.

El rectángulo que será el propio alfiletero, tendrá un tamaño o dimensiones de 10 cms por 16 cms con la tela doblada. Para mayor comodidad doblé la tela y marqué 8 cms que luego de abierta tendrá los 16 cms. y los 10 cms quedan simples. Ya con esto tenemos la pieza lista.

The strips are missing, which are two strips that he marked 3 cm wide by 35 cm long each. I mark them with the ruler and pen and cut them out.

Faltan las tiras, que se tratan de dos tiras que marcó de 3 cms de ancho por 35 cms de largo cada uno. Las marco con la regla y bolígrafo y las recorto.

I already have the pieces ready, now I'm going to sew.

Ya tengo las piezas preparadas, ahora voy a coser.

I start with the Strips, folding the ends so they meet in the center and then folding back on itself, thus forming the shape of the strip. At this point you can iron if it is more comfortable for you, I preferred not to do it since the length of the strip is very small, but it is a personal taste how to do it. Now I'm going to sew on the sewing machine, with a straight stitch.

Empiezo con las Tiras, doblo los extremos para que se encuentren en el centro y luego doblo nuevamente sobre sí mismo, para formar de esta forma la forma de la tira. En este punto puede planchar si te es más cómodo, yo preferí no hacerlo ya que es muy pequeño el largo de la tira, pero es un gusto personal como realizarlo. Ahora voy a coser en la máquina de coser, con costura recta.

During sewing on the sewing machine, I flatten the strip with my finger in the manner of ironing it, this is enough to leave it ready, and I sew along the entire length.

Durante la costura en la máquina de coser, aplano la tira con el dedo a manera de plancharla, esto es suficiente para dejarla preparada, y voy cosiendo por todo lo largo.

When I finish them I will have the two strips ready and I will prepare the other piece.

Al terminarlas tendré las dos tiras listas y voy a preparar la otra pieza.

The Pincushion will be the rectangle folded by its longest side, and in the center of the piece I will place one of the strips and sew it.

El Alfiletero será el rectángulo doblado por su lado más largo, y en el centro de la pieza voy a ubicar una de las tiras y la uno cosiéndola.

At the other end at the same height, I sew the other strip as well. When I have them ready, I collect the length of the strips so that it is not difficult for me to close the rectangular piece.

En el otro extremo a la misma altura, coso la otra tira igualmente. Al tenerlas listas recojo el largo de las tiras para que no se mi dificulte cerrar la pieza rectangular.

I use the pins to fix the strips so they don't move or interrupt my next seam.

Me ayudo de los alfileres para fijar las tiras y que no se muevan o interrumpan mi próxima costura.

Now I fold the rectangle and close with a straight seam, leaving a space of approximately 3 cm without sewing to be able to turn.

Ahora doblo el rectángulo y cierro con costura recta, dejando sin coser un espacio de 3 cms aproximadamente para poder voltear.

Before turning the piece over, through the opening that I left without a seam, I first remove the pin or pins that I had used to fix the strips. This is important to be able to turn the piece without hurting ourselves.

Antes de voltear la pieza, por la apertura que dejé sin costura, saco primero el o los alfileres que había usado para fijar las tiras. Esto es importante para poder voltear la pieza sin lastimarnos.

Now I do turn the entire piece, removing the strips. And I use any tool to get the corners right, I used a very nice exact one, closed of course, to get to the corners without a problem, but you can use anything like a pen or scissors.

Ahora sí volteo la pieza completa, sacando las tiras. Y me ayudo de cualquier herramienta para sacar bien las esquinas, yo utilicé un exacto muy lindo, cerrado claro, para llegar a las esquinas sin problema, pero se puede utilizar cualquier cosa como un bolígrafo o la misma tijera.

Now to fill, I used synthetic padding but there are several options such as cotton, foam rubber, etc. I stuffed well, even if I saw it full, I kept stuffing it so that it is very firm.

Ahora a rellenar, yo utilicé relleno sintético pero hay varias opciones como algodón, goma espuma, etc. Rellené bien, aunque lo viera lleno, seguía metiéndole relleno para que quede bien firme.

Once I'm happy with the amount of padding, I close manually with a needle and thread and using a hidden stitch that I love, where I go from one side to the other on the outside of the fabric, and go down a gap on the inside and at the end I pull the thread and everything closes without leaving traces of the seam.

Ya que esté satisfecha con la cantidad de relleno, cierro manualmente con aguja e hilo y utilizando una puntada escondida que me encanta, donde paso de un lado a otro por fuera de la tela, y bajo un espacio hacia abajo por el lado de adentro y al final halo el hilo y se cierra todo sin dejar rastros de la costura.

And this baby was so chubby, it's like a little pillow and given the stuffing I used, it feels very soft too.

Y este bebé quedó así de gordito, es como una pequeña almohada y dado el relleno que utilicé, se siente muy suave también.

I tie it on my sewing machine where I decided to place it, I pass the tie to the back and leave the pillow in the front. I can move it if I want, it is not fixed.

La amarro en mi máquina de coser donde decidí ubicarla, pasé el amarré para atrás y dejo la almohada adelante. Puedo moverlo si lo deseo, no queda fijo.

I placed my new Pins that will remain in this new Pincushion, and I already feel very happy with this Detail of Love to my teams and my work area.

Coloqué mis Alfileres nuevos que quedarán en este nuevo Alfiletero, y ya me siento muy feliz con este Detalle de Amor a mis equipos y a mi área de trabajo.

As you can see, effectively with two pieces I have a Sewing Kit that I love and that I plan to continue growing, because for me all the details and comforts that I can always add are very important.

Como pueden ver, efectivamente ya con dos piezas tengo un Kit de Costura que me encanta y que pienso seguir haciendo crecer, porque para mí son muy importantes todos los detalles y las comodidades que puedo sumar siempre.
