This project was born from the Imperious Need to Protect My Scissors, 😭😭because it is incredible that my family does not understand that there are scissors to cut thick fabric, thin fabrics, to cut surplus and threads, to cut paper, etc. and that some of them are Prohibited for them. So, I decided to make a Scissor Case, which will allow me to keep them somewhere else, without the fear of them falling and breaking, and to keep together at least the ones I don't want others to use. Diy Funda para Tijeras y su Patrón paso a paso, todo es muy fácil y los materiales son muy pocos. Este proyecto nace de la Imperiosa Necesidad de Resguardar Mis Tijeras, 😭😭porque es increíble que mi familia no entiende que hay tijeras para cortar tela gruesas, telas delgadas, para cortar excedentes e hilos, para cortar papel, etc. y que algunas están Prohibidas para ellos. De manera que, decidí hacer una Funda para Tijeras, que me permita Resguardarlas en algún otro lugar, sin el temor que se caigan y rompan, y que estén juntas por lo menos las que no quiero que me usen los demás. I bought this combo less than two weeks ago, with the purpose of creating specific sewing content, and these scissors I want to give special care, they have a special feeling, not only because I bought them, but because I bought them with the resources I generate in Hive Blog and to produce more creations, so they are my Tools of Work and so I want to take care of them and pamper them.

Este combo lo compré hace menos de dos semanas, con el propósito de crear contenido específico de costura, y estas tijeras quiero darle especial cuidado, tienen un sentimiento especial, no solo porque las compré, sino porque las compré con los recursos que genero en Hive Blog y para producir más creaciones, así que son mis Herramientas de Trabajo y así las quiero cuidar y consentir.

To make the pattern I took a sheet and cut it with the measures of 31 cms by 21 cms. As you can see in the following image, to explain it better I assigned the literal A to the upper right corner, placing the sheet horizontally. The upper left corner that I assigned the literal B, I am going to take it to the front edge, making a fold from A. I flatten with my finger all that fold. With this we are forming the first pocket. In blue color I indicate the next fold we are going to make.

Para hacer el patrón tomé una hoja y la corté con las medidas de 31 cms por 21 cms. Como se ve en la siguiente imagen, para explicarles mejor le asigné el literal A a la esquina superior derecha, colocando la hoja horizontalmente. La esquina superior izquierda que asigné el literal B, la voy a llevar hacia el borde que tiene de frente, haciendo un doblez desde A. Aplano con el dedo todo ese doblez. Con esto estamos formando el primer bolsillo. En color azul te dejo indicado el siguiente doblez que vamos a hacer.

Where I pointed out in blue, we fold well upwards, that is, towards the opposite side. With this we form the second pocket.

Donde te señalé en azul, doblamos bien hacia arriba, es decir hacia el lado contrario. Con esto formamos el segundo bolsillo.

Now, I fold it back down so that the top fold matches all the way around that edge.

The bottom edge looks like it's bigger, but don't worry because when you're sewing it, that excess or allowance will give you the necessary slack to fit the small scissors in this third pocket.

Ahora, vuelvo a doblar hacia abajo haciendo que el doblez de arriba coincida con todo ese borde.

El borde inferior parece que es más grande, pero no te preocupes porque cuando lo estés cosiendo ese excedente o diferencial te va a dar la holgura necesaria para que entre la tijera pequeña en este tercer bolsillo.

In each of the three pockets that we have just formed, we mark 1 cm down, and form a downward curve.

And at the top edge, we are going to eliminate that corner by going down 2 cm and making another curve but upwards. This will soften the shape or design.

En cada uno de los tres bolsillos que acabamos de formar, marcamos 1 cm hacia abajo, y formamos una curva hacia abajo.

Y en el borde superior, vamos a eliminar esa esquina bajando 2 cms y haciendo otra curva pero hacia arriba. Esto va a suavizar la forma o diseño.

Let's cut out all the curves we made in the previous step. Now you can see the shape we have created, I love to make the pattern of my creations myself because I can analyze and make changes if I want to. In the following image you can see the 3 pockets of the pattern.

Vamos a recortar todas las curvas que hicimos en el paso anterior. Ahora puedes ver la forma que hemos creado, me encanta hacer yo misma el patrón de mis creaciones porque puedo analizar y hacer cambios si así lo deseo. En la siguiente imagen puedes ver los 3 bolsillos del patrón.

I always identify my patterns well. In this one for example I identified it as PortaTijeras, that the pattern must be cut 2 times (2 fabrics) and that I can optionally include interlining or wadding. In today's project I didn't include it because I used a fabric and canvas, and the latter has the structure I need.

Siempre identifico bien mis patrones. En este por ejemplo lo identifiqué como PortaTijeras, que el patrón se debe cortar 2 veces (2 telas) y que opcional puedo incluir entretela o guata. En el proyecto de hoy no lo incluí porque usé una tela y loneta, y ésta última tiene la estructura que necesito.

Depending on how you place the fabrics in the pattern, the print will look in different pockets. That's why it's important to analyze everything well, so you can make the decisions or changes you want. Here you can see how it changes according to whether I place the printed fabric facing upwards, or the unicolor fabric facing upwards...

Depende como ubiques las telas en el patrón, el estampado se verá en diferentes bolsillos. Por eso es importante analizar bien todo, para que puedas tomar decisiones o hacer los cambios que quieras. Aquí ves como cambia de acuerdo a si coloco la tela estampada viendo hacia arriba, o la tela unicolor viendo hacia arriba...

Now I place the pattern on my two fabrics, cut all around, fix with the pressure clips. Then I remove the pattern, leave the clips and get ready to sew. Notice that I set a place the size of my hand, where I am not going to sew, since that is where I am going to flip the piece.

Ahora ubico el patrón sobre mis dos telas, corto todo alrededor, fijo con los clips de presión. Luego retiro el patrón, dejo los clips y me dispongo a coser. Noten que establecí un lugar del tamaño de mi mano, donde No voy a coser, ya que por ahí voy a voltear la pieza.

I sew with a straight stitch, finishing well at the beginning and at the end, removing the clips as I sew. I leave the opening.

Coso con puntada recta, rematando bien al principio y al final, voy quitando los clips conforme voy cosiendo. Dejo la apertura.

I picket all the curves, and cut very close at the corners so that they fit well when I flip them.

Hago piquetes en todas las curvas, y corto bien cerca en las esquinas para que queden bien al voltearlas.

I flip the piece through the opening I left. I sew or machine close the opening. It is not necessary to rework anything.

Volteo la pieza por la apertura que dejé. Coso o cierro la apertura a máquina. No es necesario repisar nada.

This is what the piece looks like. I place my pattern on top of it to guide me and to remember where I should make the folds.

Así se ve la pieza. Le coloco encima mi patrón para guiarme y recordar bien donde es que debo hacer los doblez.

I will recreate all the folds of the pattern and fix everything with the pressure clips.

To close the whole thing I'm just going to make two seams, as I show you in red lines.

Voy recreando todos los doblez del patrón y fijando todo con los clips de presión.

Para cerrar todo solo voy a hacer dos costuras, como te señalo en líneas rojas.
