Genuinely, this whole idea of trying to look rich rather than being actually rich stems from a couple of factors. One would be that our society, despite being poor, centers money way too much. It feels like this insane love for money and looking the part has become more worse than it was years ago, and the little kids keep growing up to fit into same lifestyle and narrative.

When you have parents, siblings and even people in key leadership positions prioritize money a little too much, you might begin to lean into doing all it takes to look rich if you can’t get hold of that amount of funds. Pathetic situation, really. I hope young people have the courage to resist these behaviours and pressures.
