Bienvenidos a un nuevo post para los amantes del cine y de las series, hoy les traigo 鈥淪kin", un cortometraje que hace tiempo quer铆a verlo nuevamente pero no encontraba donde, buscando y buscando me encontr茅 con la pagina que dejare a continuaci贸n, donde la pude disfrutar y ver como en 20 minutos cambia la historia de una manera muy positiva, hablando sobre el racismo y la cultura de la violencia transmitida entre la generaci贸n
Welcome to a new post for film and series lovers! Today I bring you "Skin," a short film I've wanted to rewatch for a while but couldn't find where to watch it. After searching and searching, I found the website I'll link below, where I was able to enjoy it and see how, in 20 minutes, the story changes in a very positive way, addressing racism and the culture of violence passed down through generations.
En primeros momentos del cortometraje nos muestra una vida que puede llamarse "normal", dentro de algunos par谩metros, una familia con actividades con su hijo, pero estas actividades son decir groser铆as, hablar con tono de adulto, y ver y disparar con armas de verdad, pero lo que viene a continuaci贸n es espeluznante. Ver como el ni帽o habla normalmente con gestos con un hombre "negro" en el supermercado, el padre al percatarse increpa sin mediar ning煤n razocinio simplemente por su color, y asi empieza la aterradora historia.
The short film opens with what could be considered a "normal" life, within certain parameters: a family engaging in activities with their son. These activities include swearing, speaking in adult tones, and watching and shooting real guns. But what follows is chilling. The boy is seen gesturing normally with a Black man in the supermarket. The father, noticing this, berates him without any reasoning, simply because of his skin color, and thus begins the terrifying story.
Un intercambio de palabras basto para que el Nazi llame a su grupo de matones a propisiarle una gran golpiza, vemos como se divierten al cometer esto y como gozan de este sufrimiento del otro, esto nos deja pensando como se naturalizo esto (entiendo a帽os atras) pero que se siga viendo de buena forma dentro de grupos de nazis sin amor... es aterrador.
A mere exchange of words was enough for the Nazi to call his group of thugs to give him a severe beating. We see how they enjoy committing this act and how they revel in the suffering of the other. This leaves us wondering how this became normalized (I understand years ago) but that it continues to be seen as acceptable within groups of loveless Nazis... it's terrifying.
Al escaparse de la zona, vemos como los ni帽os intercambian miradas, a lo lejos... viendose con vacio por el hecho de no entender el porque del comflicto. Aca comienza el plan de la venganza, o mejor dicho, de la justicia que siempre esta en contra de las "minorias".
As they flee the area, we see the children exchange glances in the distance, staring blankly at each other, unable to understand the reason for the conflict. Here begins the plan of revenge, or rather, of a justice system that is always against "minorities."
Ahora es el momento de ver como el grupo toma esto como justicia, propici谩ndole tinta en todo su cuerpo durante d铆as, d谩ndole as铆 el aspecto a lo que simplemente para ellos (los nazis) es "pecado", creo que el mayor sufrimiento para el seria verse asi durante toda su vida, pero aun no spoileare nada
Now it's time to see how the group takes this as justice, covering his entire body in ink for days, thus giving him the appearance of what, for them (the Nazis), is simply "sin." I think the greatest suffering for him would be seeing himself like this for the rest of his life, but I won't spoil anything yet.
En este desconocimiento y en el miedo, la familia descubren lo que le hicieron a su esposo desaparecido, pero una sorpresa esperara el final de este cortometraje que espero que lo disfruten como yo lo hice, y aunque falte una descomposicion sobre el tema social, habla muy bien de como el racismo aun esta en auje y mucho mas en los Estados Unidos. Sin mas, espero que disfruten de este cortometraje como lo hice yo, un saludo amantes del cine y de las series de Hive 馃挮
In this ignorance and fear, the family discovers what was done to their missing husband, but a surprise awaits at the end of this short film, which I hope you enjoy as much as I did. Although it lacks a deeper exploration of social issues, it speaks volumes about how racism is still rampant, especially in the United States.
