There was a lot of talk about the SEC ruling today on whether or not Ethereum should be considered a security or not. It would be better if it was not considered a security, since it is a platform and means of exchange and not a security in a company with ownership and equity.
Well, the decision of the ruling was...nothing. It was a complete hoax. There was no actual ruling that was happening today on Ethereum. This is what we call FUD news (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt). Just search google for "Ethereum SEC ruling" and you'll see a lot of articles talking about an alleged ruling on Ethereum, but there was no ruling or hearing on Ethereum today. Was it completely made up, or was it taken it of context in relation to private hearings that are going on with the SEC about blockchain and cryptocurrencies? We don't know...however...
The market reacted...
And there was a big sell off last night, partially due to this news...and partially due to just the simple sell off after a spike.
In general, the market is still looking good and moving upwards. We are steadily still looking bullish.
So, don't give into FUD and make sure to check out news sources and definitely do NOT panic sell because of a news story.
