Hello everyone! @qurator is hosting a weekly Photo Quest and the theme for this week is 'Lines'. I remember when the same theme was running last year and I participated with some pictures I took in Penang. I didn't win but it was still a fun post to write. So I thought of trying again this year and went through my gallery. I noticed some pictures taken recently with the power lines standing out so I chose them as my entry for this contest.
I was on the way to Bukit Beruntung, Malaysia and I noticed a beautiful hornbill perching on the power lines. It was a sweet surprising sight because the magestic birds don't fly around here usually. They are mostly in areas around coastal regions and beaches. The nearest beach from here is an hour away so I'm guessing that it was resting there after a long flight.
Here's another picture of the bird with crown just chilling on the power line. This is a semi rural area with village style houses but still had modern infrastructures built around. I couldn't identify the bird at first but then I noticed the crown on its head. I hope it wasn't lost. Birds do often rest on the power lines but they're usually pigeons and crows.
I managed to get this photo as well. Although I was in a moving car, I could still take quick pictures as the cards were moving slowly. This area gets crowded at times especially during the weekends because people are constantly going back and forth to the waterfalls and camping areas nearby. The lines appear clear but the hornbill looks dark because of the hot weather. Well at least I got th blue sky in the background to add to the image.
I reached my destination later in Bukit Beruntung which is where my aunty's house is later on. Her residential area was nearby.
Thank you @qurator for hosting the contest and I wish my fellow participants all the best. Thanks for dropping by and I hope that you have a great day!
