Unexpected and unplanned moments are the best; it lasts in memory and it will always have a special place in your heart. More so if these moments include the most wonderful gift from God – the nature!
For one of our subjects in our midyear class, we were tasked to make a documentary about biodiversity. At that time, we were swamped with requirements so we didn’t actually have firm plans on we’ll do it. Some of our group mates are also from different municipalities in our province.
After shooting the video for our requirement in arts, we decided to visit the Baluarte Zoo in the city! I think that was the first time I went back to that place after the two-year long pandemic.
The zoo is almost the same as before. There were only minor changes like the tigers - there were lots of them before but now I don't know where they are.
The first cuties that greeted us are the parrots.
This one is so adorable. They gave him slices of papaya down on the cage and he picks it one by one and eats it.
This one I think is older. It looks familiar so it must've been there for a long time already. Though seeing this one makes me sad. How I wish these creatures are in their natural habitat and have the freedom to fly wherever they want to go.
Nonetheless, these animals were trained; they are friendly and give happiness to people, especially the kids. Lastly, they receive love and care from the the zookeepers and the people who visit them.

There were many iguanas, snakes, and different types of rodents as well.
If you got tired of walking around, you can hire the horse carriage which is more fun!
So many deers are just walking around the zoo, eating grass.

After this very tiring day, I just stayed in my bed after I got home. My body is tired but my soul is restored. We successfully finished our school requirements plus we got to have a brand new experience to keep.
It was a day well spent at the zoo indeed.
