Tyrus Paladium - Splinterlands Art Contest

Hey Splinterlands fans and everyone else!

Hey again! So, today I wanna show you this drawing I just finished for my entry in the Splinterlands Art Contest, This ain't my usual posting time, but lately, schedules are all flipped. But when were they ever right?

I've selected a character from Alpha/Beta, kind of an oldie but goodie, which you probably know pretty well, or maybe you've forgotten about them, who knows? Nah, I doubt it. Anyway, this character is pretty ancient and it takes me back to the early days when the contest started and I used to do physical fan art. A lot has happened since then, so here I am, years later, doing an Alpha/Beta in digital format. I had no idea this would happen!

LORE

A Khymerian prophecy says that a chosen hero will rise from humble beginnings to wield the Silver Shield and the Silver Sword, uniting the world against evil. Whispers in Khymeria say that Tyrus Paladium, the talented summoner who began as a fisherman is that chosen hero.

SOME STEPS

I quickly sketched out what I wanted to do, nothing too detailed but it was functional for what I had in mind.

-.-

I've been working with my usual brush, kinda layering strokes here and there, not really sticking to grayscale or flat colors. Just dove right into the colors with some volume, Also did a bit in the background.

-.-

As I progressed, I started adding more details and cleaning up the lines because everything was collapsed into a single layer, which made things easier.

-.-

I hadn't really worked much on the face up until now, so after being somewhat okay with what I've been doing, I made some progress on the head to finish erasing the lines from the initial sketch.

-.-

Okay, so to wrap things up, there were a couple of little things I needed to work on, ya know? Besides that, I made a few tweaks here and there, like to the scepter, the hand, some stuff on the character's outfit, and some other tiny bits. Oh, and on top of all that, I tinkered with the lights, shadows, threw in a few filters, and boom, it was good to go!

Thank you very much for taking the time to view my work.
