Good night, dear Hivers!!!
In these last few days, my life has been totally chaotic. The rainy season came to my city and that is very bad for me, and I think for all of us who live here. As soon as a few drops of water fall and the electricity goes out for long hours, added to the 3 hours a day of rationing imposed by the Venezuelan government, I have few days to use my PC and make my illustrations. 😤😡🤬
And in the middle of the week, my tablet stopped working. Well... not directly the tablet, but the pencil. Because I ran out of nibs and can't get them, the few I had are the ones I've been eating for these 5 years. But fortunately, about a year ago, I was given a Huion tablet which, although not my favorite brand, as it looks like a toy and a fragile one at that, is working well. Likewise, I will continue to search for said pencil tips so that I can continue to use my old Wacon bamboo tablet from prehistoric times. 🙏🏻🙄
On top of all that, I've had some ideas in my head for the #Splinterlands contest for a few weeks now, so for this week I decided to take one of those ideas (there are 7 in total) to make my #Splinterlands art contest entry. 🤔💡💡
I spent several days working on what my entry would be, but unfortunately things didn't work out as I wished. It was something big, very big. After 4 days, I decided to quit (abort the mission ☹️😣😢), since apparently my level is not up to the same level of what I wanted to accomplish "for now". This frustrated me a bit, but I didn't burst into tears and just left it for next week. 🫲🏻🙄🫱🏻 I hope I can make it and show you "My new ideas". 🤭
So yesterday morning, I didn't have anything for the contest, so I remembered a card I bought recently that I really like, said card is called -=Cabalist=- and yes, it's from my favorite Splinter... Death!!! 🤗💖💖
Apart from being my favorite Splinter and the failure I had when I made my first idea, I made this card because I was very struck by its design. It is an impressive and powerful character, which allowed me to play a little with what I could do with him. Besides, it was a new challenge, since I rarely make male characters. I always or almost always do women, except when I do "crazy creatures", but those are more "monsters", so they don't count. So, from time to time, I make some male characters to get used to it a little bit or in some occasions when I've been asked to do them in commissions. 🤑🤭
So for all these reasons, I decided to choose this card for this week and I hope you like it and if not it's not my fault... Well, I don't make a lot of men very often. 🤣🤣🤣

When High Magus Obin Invaras betrayed the great council and joined with Silus, it split the order in two and caused a rift that might never mend. Obin cast out the temporal masters that remained loyal to the council and the Splinterlands, banishing them from the Temple of Time. Those that sided with the High Magus became known as anachron cabalists.
These cabalists expanded their studies to find new and diabolical means to bend time to their will. They can be a great boon on the fields of battle. However, they are incredibly vulnerable when working their magic, and a dead wizard is no use to anyone.
For those of you who already know me, you will know that I don't sketch very often, although in some cases I make an exception, like in this particular one. It took me a long time to work on this, as I wasn't liking what I was seeing. But after a long while, this was as decent as I got. 🤣🤣🤣

On a blend mode layer I overlaid some base colors to give this Rockstar a little more life. Although I made some slight changes to the character, I placed some base colors similar to the original. It was going well so far. 🤟🏻😎

I collapsed all the layers of my illustration, "since to me", too many layers equals too much mess. After that, on a layer on top, I went detailing little by little, brushes here and there to clean up the lineart and improve the armor. 🤔✨🫡

After a long while, as most of the illustration was without the lineart, I'm not an expert in drawing men, as I mentioned before. God, I hardly ever draw men!!! So this was quite a challenge, why men? There are a lot of muscles to do!!! I must learn more. 🙄☹️😢

After the above, there was just some progress, not much, but a few more details were ready.

Muscles arrived!!! I didn't intend to do this at the beginning, but in the end I decided to change the character's costume a bit and make something a bit more daring that would show his great power and those bad boy features. 🔥😋🤭

For the final result, I realized that I had a lot of things a bit "different" not to say the real word 🤣🤣🤣. So I spent a few more hours rendering everything and also spent some time trying to create a scenery according to this character. "Literally", here I suffered a bit, as there were a lot of changes, but after all that, my work is completely finished. 🪄🔮
I hope you like my version for this card. I must also confess that this was to participate in the previous contest, but because a few hours before the end of the contest there were many power outages due to the rains and the internet failed quite a lot, I could not participate. 🤬🤬😤
Although it wasn't all bad, because of that I was able to realize some mistakes in my illustration and it gave me the opportunity to do some things better.
