Good night or good morning everyone, hope u all doing great.

After some time without joining the Splinterlands art contests, I decided to come back with a piece that’s kinda special for me. Coming back here actually got me hyped tbh, ‘cause this place has always been a big source of inspo and a spot where I can share my art vision with an awesome community. Btw, I’ve been into these contests since the very beginning, so yeah, it’s kinda close to my heart.

The result came out nice imo, maybe a bit more simple, but I chose to focus on the strength while keeping that soft side of the character too, playing a lot with light and shadows.

This time I went for a portrait inspired by Buttercup Mauler. I used the official Splinterlands page as ref (and omg there’s a bunch of new chars, I missed a lot lol). But I wanted to twist it a bit, make it more personal, more free, interpreting it my own way with a style that feels more me. I’ve def changed my drawing style a lil’ since the last time I joined, and tbh I feel way more comfy creating like this.

As usual, I worked on Corel Painter, a program that’s been with me since like 2018 ( haha but actually I started using it like a year ago). It lets me explore textures, brushes and effects in a very organic way. It really fits my workflow and makes every stroke feel natural… or at least it tries 😂.

I also did a stream on Arena while working on it. It had been like a month since my last stream, so it felt good sharing the process live again. And yeah, for the final details I jumped into PS just to tweak some stuff ‘cause, even tho I mostly use Painter, I can’t fully let go of Photoshop 😆😞.

I took some parts from the vid to show the process, ‘cause lately I like it better that way. Before, I had to keep saving screenshots every now and then and tbh I often forgot, or I had already moved on a lot with the piece, so it wasn’t the same. That’s why now I prefer to pull the process directly from the video… which btw, yeah, I still haven’t edited 😅.

Joining Splinterlands again doesn’t only mean showing a drawing, it’s also about reconnecting with that motivation we all share as artists: the wish to create, to experiment, and to share. That energy made me enjoy every single stage of the portrait, from the sketch to the final lighting touches.

At the end of the day, more than the contest results, what really stays with me is the joy of being back, being active again in this art community, and leaving a bit of my personal vision and style in every stroke.

So yeah, I’m really glad to be part of this again, and even tho I got a bunch of stuff going on, I hope I can keep finding the time to join more often and also check out the amazing work from other artists I’ve been seeing around.

A while ago I was looking for this little shark you see down here 🦈. It’s really special to me. I won it a long time ago here, n it was done by a person many years ago but also I consider a GREAT GREAT GREAT FRIEND now n who does amazing work , very talented🤗.

I thought I had lost it , I was very sad… but noooo! I got it back! Yes ! He found n sent it to me again, and I’m so happy to have it with me once more.
So from now on, this shark will be keeping me company 💙
