¿Te gustan los tatuajes? (es/en)

Saludos querido amigo o amiga de hive. ¿Que crees sobre los tatuajes? Esta pregunta me la he realizado en distintas etapas de mi vida y créeme que mi criterio ha ido evolucionando y hasta he cambiado de parecer. Toda esta reflexión se originó al salir del Teatro de mi Universidad acompañada del profesor @yventura, estábamos conversando sobre distintos aspectos de la vida académica y nos sorprendió, en el pasillo de entrada al recinto, un festival de tatuajes donde varios expertos realizaban tatuajes de fantasía y por consiguiente efímeros.

All this reflection originated when I was leaving the Theater of my University accompanied by Professor @yventura, we were talking about different aspects of academic life and we were surprised, in the hallway at the entrance to the campus, a tattoo festival where several experts made fantasy tattoos and therefore ephemeral.

Un muchacho me ofreció hacerme un tatuaje y otros me pidieron que les hiciera fotos. Tatuajes de parejas, patrióticos, de flores y banderas salieron de aquellos ágiles pinceles que utilizaban varios colores. Yo solo me limité a observar y tomar fotos. Ni siquiera averigüé el motivo de la actividad, ni el nombre de los protagonistas.

One boy offered me to get a tattoo and others asked me to take pictures of them. Tattoos of couples, patriotic tattoos, flowers and flags came out of those agile brushes that used various colors. I just watched and took pictures. I didn't even find out the reason for the activity, nor the names of the protagonists.

Tengo que confesarte que durante mucho tiempo consideré los tatuajes impropios y hasta groseros. No me culpes de tener prejuicios, mis padres, nacidos en la primera mitad del siglo XX, en el medio del campo y sin ningún acercamiento a las culturas egipcias, más allá de conocer por la tv las pirámides, me enseñaron así.

"Los tatuajes son cosa de presidiarios", decían ellos. Bueno algo de razón tenían, recuerdo que en una clase de arte universal me explicaron que en la Antigüedad varias culturas entre ellas la China de al rededor de los siglos V y VIII marcaban a los convictos con tatuajes para que fueran reconocidos por la sociedad.

Do not blame me for having prejudices, my parents, born in the first half of the twentieth century, in the middle of the countryside and without any approach to Egyptian cultures, beyond knowing the pyramids on TV, taught me that way. "Tattoos are for convicts", they used to say. Well, they were right, I remember that in a class of universal art they explained to me that in the Antiquity several cultures among them the China of around the V and VIII centuries marked the convicts with tattoos so that they were recognized by the society.

En mi entorno, cerca de casa, cuando era una niña, vivían unos hombres con un carácter hostil que estuvieron en prisión por acciones violentas y hurto y sacrificio de ganado. Allí se tatuaron en líneas gruesas y de poco valor artístico la Caridad del Cobre, patrona de Cuba en la religión Católica.

También se escribieron en la piel nombres, cruces y símbolos que cubrieron sus espaldas y hombros fundamentalmente. Esos tatuajes, siempre eran con tinta azul y sin relleno, eran líneas inseguras y hasta a veces interrumpidas, denotando la falta de recursos y pericia del tatuador. Sin lugar a dudas eso prejuició mucho mi opinión con respecto a los tatuajes.

There they tattooed in thick lines and of little artistic value the Caridad del Cobre, patron saint of Cuba in the Catholic religion. Cuando era estudiante universitaria no abundaban los tatuajes dentro de mis compañeros. Lo más cerca que tuvimos los tatuajes artísticos fue cuando una amiga era novia de un muchacho de la banda de música rock "Tendencia".

Todos en el aula estábamos orgullosos, eran músicos muy buenos y multipremiados en diversos certámenes nacionales e internacionales. Ellos exhibían bellos tatuajes en sus brazos, pechos y espaldas. Su música rebelde y fuerte era para nosotros muy buena aunque yo prefiero un rock más suave, más específicamente yo prefiero escuchar la música de "Maná" ¡Ves como ya voy evolucionando en mi criterio iniciando el siglo XXI!

Pues te cuento que ya más o menos a la altura del 2016 proliferaron los tatuajes entre mis estudiantes. De todas las formas y colores lo mismo en hembras que en varones. Rosas, mariposas, letras musicales, candados y corazones, tigres, flechas, dados y un sinfín de figuras subrealistas aparecen en la piel de los muchachos, ahora con un acabado artístico.

They displayed beautiful tattoos on their arms, chests and backs. Their rebellious and strong music was for us very good although I prefer a softer rock, more specifically I prefer to listen to the music of "Maná" You see how I am already evolving in my criteria at the beginning of the XXI century! Well, I tell you that already more or less at the height of 2016 tattoos proliferated among my students. In all shapes and colors, both in females and males. Roses, butterflies, musical letters, padlocks and hearts, tigers, arrows, dice and an endless number of surrealistic figures appear on the skin of boys, now with an artistic finish.

Así que ya es trivial ver a muchos jóvenes universitarios con la piel tatuada. ¿Que les motiva según ellos: su estética, el amor a la pareja, los padres u otro familiar o amigo, el culto a algún artista , religión o deporte, sus deseos o esperanzas. Cada vez es mayor el número de tatuajes que tienen un significado especial para quien lo lleva.

Mis actuales estudiantes me llevaron a conocer un Proyecto Sociocultural que se dedica a investigar, promocionar y practicar el arte de hacer tatuajes. El Proyecto se llama "Aguantagujas". En ese momento estaban temporalmente en la muestra "Posicionamiento" en el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Pinar del Río. Quedé impresionada con la calidad de su trabajo, las medidas de seguridad que toman y el ambiente limpio y agradable. Ahora que veo bien ellos son el equipo de jóvenes que estaban en la Universidad haciendo tatuajes y caricaturas.

The number of tattoos that have a special meaning for the wearer is increasing. My current students took me to know a Sociocultural Project that is dedicated to investigate, promote and practice the art of tattooing. The project is called "Aguantagujas". At that time they were temporarily in the exhibition "Positioning" at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Pinar del Rio. I was impressed with the quality of their work, the safety measures they take and the clean and pleasant environment. También hace muy poco el Doctor en ciencias Jorge Moreno Aragón, profesor de la Universidad de Pinar del Río, realizó un importante documental sobre los estudiantes tatuados. Su título: ¿Con el mismo racero? Los protagonistas son tres estudiantes universitarios que tienen tatuajes. Dicho material realiza un importante análisis sobre cómo son estigmatizadas las personas por lo que llevan en la piel. Ya sea por profesores, empleadores, familiares o la sociedad en general.
