Dealing with rejection is painfull, I won't lieee at all.
For me, rejection used to mean I am not good enough..... If someone says no, I will go and hide. I will replay everything I said, think I did something wrong. I would not eat well that day.
But now I handle it differently. I allow myself to feel it.... it's okay to be sad.
When I get a no, I give myself one day to be sad.......I cry if I want to. I write in my book. I don't pretend I'm fine. Then after that one day, I ask myself, what did this teach me? Where am I being redirected to?
I have a story that turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
Last year, I applied for a big IT in Abuja. Good salary, accommodation. I prepared so well. I arranged money to travel from Anambra to Abuja for interview. I was so sure I would get it. I even told my mama.
Then they sent me email - "We regret to inform you..." My heart broke. I cried inside the bus coming back to Anambra.I felt like failure.
But because that job rejected me, I stayed in Anambra. And because I stayed, I had time to start writing on Hive. I started learning about Web3, I started my small baking business. That baking business now pays me more than that Abuja job would have paid, and I am my own boss.
If that door did not close, I would never see this better window.
So how do I handle rejection now? >>>>I feel it, >>>>I learn from it, and I keep moving. A no is not the end of my story........... Sometimes a closed door is just God saying, not here, I have something better.
Have you ever been rejected and later you said thank God they said no?
