Last year, one of my contacts slid into my dm.
"Boss babe, I’ve got something for you.
He sent me the details.
Run ads for a new "investment platform".
Just post flyers, make 2 videos, tell people to join.
Pay was good. Like, really good.
Enough to clear debt, buy stock, breathe for once.
But there was a problem.
I’d heard about this platform before.
My neighbor lost 200k to it. My friend’s aunty cried on WhatsApp voice note about it.
It was a Ponzi. A straight up fake game.
For somedays I couldn’t think straight.
Heart was like: "Take it. You need it. Just do the ad and disappear."
Mind was like: "If you do this, you’re part of the problem."
I kept going back to one thing.
The people i have in my contacts. The girls who DM me "sis how do I start".
What if one of them sees my face on that ad and trusts it because it's me? What if they later realise is a ponzi platform...i will be the one whose name is in the mud right?
So one day, I texted him back: "omo me I can’t do it."
He said "no problem nh" and blocked me. lol
And for a whole month, I did regret it.
Every bill that came in, I thought "that could’ve been paid".
But here’s the lesson that decision taught me:
Making better decisions is choosing who you want to be when no one is watching, no eye-service , you are just being you.
I had to decide before the DM came: Am I the kind of person who sells people out for cash, they cry while i enjoy?
The answer was no.
Sometimes I think about this version...
What if there was a "Truth Scanner" that shows you who you hurt 6 months later?
Version A me took the Ponzi money. I’m rich but 20 people lost their savings because of my ad.
Version B me said no. I’m still struggling, but I can sleep.
I picked version B.
So I want to ask you:
What is one decission you made in the past or recently that taught you an important life lessoon?🙂🙂🙂
When you’re faced with a difficult choice, do you follow your heart, your mind, advice from people, or all?
Easy money is loud. Peace is quiet. I chose quiet.
