You can't bury pain
and not expect it
to grow roots...
But you can try
and tend, tenderly,
to its fruits.
A good listener helps us overhear ourselves.
Good conversations come from good silences (and return there to refuel).
Silence is the great jeweler of words -
patiently certifying their authenticity,
carefully assessing their true worth.
Writing is live performance, scripted.
Poetry is what we say to ourselves, when there's nowhere to hide.
Those periods we refer to as dry spells are quietly fertile - when our very souls are being rewritten and readied for fresh utterance.
