The photo shows today's staple food, cookies.
Typhoon No. 7 hit the Kinki region today. I was restless because I prepare for typhoons two days before they are expected to hit.
The day before, I walked a little and bought daily necessities at a large supermarket and Daiso. The day before, I went to a nearby supermarket and stocked up on food and drinking water.
The day before was quiet with only occasional rain, but I was anxious to get up at 3:00 a.m. There were intermittent storms and heavy rain.
Then, as night fell, news came that a typhoon had made landfall on the Kii Peninsula, and the storms became stronger. Since this typhoon was moving slowly and the rain and wind were expected to be strong all day today, I decided not to leave the house today. I decided not to leave the house today because it would be dangerous if something flew over and hit me and I got hurt.
I ate cookies for breakfast, drank coffee, and painted a picture because it was hard to sit still. While I was painting, I calmed down a little, but when I took a break in the middle of the day, the storm was getting stronger and stronger. I still did my best to finish the painting. I was glad that I could not paint yesterday.
After I painted the picture, the rainstorm became even stronger. However, I did not have the energy to paint two or three pictures. At any rate, I got typhoon information on my phone and radio, but it was getting kind of depressing.
I alternately looked at the Kyoto City Disaster Prevention Portal Site and the Kyoto Prefecture River Disaster Prevention Information. The river disaster prevention information is especially useful because it shows river water levels and is updated frequently. This is because my house is relatively close to a river, and if that river is about to flood, I have to evacuate.
While I was doing so, the door of my house was rattling, the storm was gurgling outside, and I couldn't stop being terrified.
Then I looked at Yahoo News and found that not only department stores but also supermarkets were temporarily closed in the Kansai region today, and some convenience stores were also closed or operating on a shortened schedule.
At noon, I had another light meal. I ate a cookie and a can of tuna fish. I was disappointed that the can of tuna was too small, but I decided to eat only one can.
After lunch, the storm continued as usual. I listened to music to keep myself warm, but after listening to it for an hour, it became hard to bear. It is not good for one's mental health to stay home alone and listen to the eerie sound of wind and rain at a time like this.
The typhoon is expected to continue until late tonight, so we have to watch out for storms. I don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight, but I'm sure it will subside tomorrow, so I'll hold out a little longer.
