We are born in the shelter of the womb. Underneath it our humanity developed. We are prepared to assume the intramundane life always as a process, always in need of the Other and of the others, although called to be more and more free. But freedom costs, it is a conquest that gives us being in the truth. That pain manifests itself at birth, leaving the warm refuge where our corporeity was formed. It is painful, but necessary, to stay there life would not be possible, it would be frustrated. And so every process that we have to live on our way to our ultimate goal is marked by a crisis, a rupture, a crucial moment that can be perceived as a loss, a pain, a crisis.
Light, giving birth ... are terms we use to refer to birth. And it is an important part of our existence to live in the light to be truly free. And this brings with it the renunciation of the easy. You and I know that everything that is important, everything that is valuable costs a lot. The marathon of life we have to travel in the light not to stop, to fall or not to leave any place. It costs, but it's simple right? Knowing the route map just go ahead and we will arrive. It would be a fairy tale, but fairies do not exist, and I will not applaud.
We were given birth, to live in freedom. The darkness is cold and lonely, and she does not want to be alone. And he wants us for her. He is aware that, although we know that we were created for life, light, freedom, also knows that that same freedom can make us ambiguous, that can tempt our senses and thoughts, disguising as the caramel, the worst of rottenness. That way she has taken as a mission to attract us by the good or the bad.
A great evil has been generalized in our times, the idea that we can live without pain and suffering, when we already know that we are born aware of the pain, and to grow we will continue to break up comforts or we will atrophy and lose the processual path. In every age of humanity darkness has sought different methods to attract us, to entertain us on the road. And this is one of the main ones in our days. And there are already many who are comfortable in the dark, and the light bothers them. Only those who have diligently guarded the light in their soul can be guided without falling into the present darkness.
It is not easy to be free. Freedom breaks our comfortable status and throws us to life, to face it, to walk according to the freedom received. But not always living in freedom is welcomed with the joy and honor it means to be free. The People of the Old Covenant, after being released, after having to live and make free decisions begins to miss slavery, mistreatment ... and begin to regret their freedom. God promised a land, but they wanted to have it without fighting for it, without walking towards it. Freedom is a gift, a gift that joins the struggle, must be conquered.
At the spiritual level we want to be free, we find it difficult to contemplate the light of the Son of Man. Their evangelical demands cause us to panic because they demand to be lived in freedom and in truth. We look for groups, sects, activities, diversions, vices, environments ... that only entertain us, manipulate our senses and emotions, while away from the light, grace, thinking many times we even serve. It happens to us like the disciples of Emmaus who walk talking about the Master, but they do not even tell that He walks by His side.
No doubt when we were long in the dark the light hits us in the eye and stuns the senses. It is born again. It will cost us to get used to it, but freedom is priceless.
