As part of IGN's Summer of Gaming Expo, we finally got a little more talk about the previously announced Steelrising, which is being developed by the Spiders team, who also worked on GreedFall.

The game could be an umpteenth multiplayer action RPG, but the context is so attention-grabbing that it is worth paying attention to the news about the game for that reason alone. But what is Steelrising about?

The story is set in the 1700s in France, during the reign of King Louis XVI. The twist is that the monarch has set up an automated robot army to terrorise the people of Paris.

In the story, you will take on the role of a revolutionary, Aegis, to fight terror and change the course of events. There is no word yet on when the game will be released, but the developers have been looking for testers since March, so we can assume that more details will be revealed soon.

The Nacon-maintained game will not be coming to previous-generation consoles, and will be available exclusively for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC.
