I have a bird again - My first day with Solymocska, my male Barbary falcon (2023.07.19)

Most of you probably know that I had a female Harris's hawk in Hungary, and how much I loved her. I am very grateful and very happy to write that I have a bird again. This time a male barbary falcon in Spain. They shipped the falcon yesterday (on 2023.07.18), and he arrived today morning.

Solymocska is a nickname for sólyom (falcon) in Hungarian.

My male barbary falcon is parent reared. This means that I am the first human, who spend a longer time with him. I will tame him.

I fed him in the afternoon. Not from my hands yet. I put the meat down, and he ate it.
