I call this next series "The Great RV Adventure of July 2007". Don't worry, it's short but sour. :-)
A few months before July 2007 (I think it was January or February), I had purchased a 1978 Dodge "Dreamer" motorhome for around $2000. Turns out I was the dreamer! I had always wanted a motorhome, both for adventures and prepper purposes. This one seemed like a good deal (at the time) and I was somewhat familiar with Dodge vans, since I'd had one in the past. So I scooped up the Dreamer and drove it home with no problems.
Anyway, after a few months of cleaning it up, fixing up a few little things and taking (much) shorter trips with it, I figured it might be might safe for a longer test. I'd gotten this thing in the mail offering a FREE night's stay and a FREE portable DVD player if I'd come up to this place - KQ Ranch in Julian - and listen to their sales pitch for a member ship. It seemed kind of far (about 60 miles) and up pretty high in the mountain. But hey, it was all FREE! And I'm a sucker for lots of "free" things. Not all of them. But if they fit into my plans anyway, what the heck. So off I went! We'll see how that goes tomorrow. :-)
