In the history of man there are events that move. In Scotland, there lived a girl named Grizel Hume. Those were the times when the persecution of Christians was getting harder and harder. On one occasion his father, who also embraced the faith, needed to send an important message to his friend Roberto, imprisoned for preaching Jesus, he did not dare to fear being imprisoned. Grizel, who was attentive to the situation, said to his father, "Dad, let me go, I will deliver that message to your friend, since I am just a girl, nobody will notice me". His father, very reluctantly allowed him to go, and the girl in a moment of carelessness of the jailer to open the heavy gate, slipped into the interior without being seen by anyone. When he delivered the message to Roberto, he realized that next to him was a child, his son, who was also detained because of his faith in Christ Jesus.
When leaving and returning to his house, his thoughts were with Roberto's son. Later, after a few months, Roberto was hanged by some soldiers because of believing in the Son of God. They also tried to kill Grizel's father, but thanks to her, he was saved.
Prisoner For His Faith
And also all those who want to live piously in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. 2 Timothy 3:12. He who finds his life will lose it; and he who loses his life for my sake will find it. Matthew 10:39.
I am deeply moved by the persecution that men, women, and children are suffering, both in Asia and in Africa because of their faith in the Lord Jesus. Cruelty has reached intolerable limits, and there are many testimonies that speak of that reality. There is also a covert persecution of the sons and daughters of God in other parts of the world, and they are also a cause for concern.
Grizel, lived that situation closely. The Lord has left written, that those who have accepted Jesus as the only and sufficient personal Savior, and worry about living in holiness, will react to the world that surrounds them and motivated by the devil, will suffer some type of persecution, even as happens now, go through martyrdom. In such unfavorable circumstances, Jesus Christ has promised that the places of heaven will be reserved for them, "he who loses his life for my sake will find it."
