The Bible encourages us to be generous. Actually there are more verses about giving than any other issue related to money. We must learn to be generous, giving our eyes not in the accumulation of material goods but in the construction of our future in the heavenly apatria. There are certain principles that we must put into practice and that are very important at the time of giving.
It is important to find the right attitude.
1.- Out of love (1 Corinthians 13.3)"And if I distribute all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, and have no love, it is of no use to me."
2.- Give with joy. (2 Corinthians 9: 7 "And if I distribute all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, and have no love, it is of no use to me."
3 .- Give with joy. (2 Corinthians 9: 7) "Let each one give as he proposed in his heart: not with sorrow, not out of necessity, because God loves the joyful giver."
3.- Give God in the first place. (Proverbs 3: 9) "Honor Jehovah with your goods, and with the firstfruits of all your fruits."
4.- Give without limits of mathematical formulas (Genesis 14:20) "and blessed be the Most High God, who delivered your enemies into your hand." And Abram gave him tithes of everything.
It is important to understand the blessings received.
(Acts 20:35) "In everything I have taught you that, working thus, you should help those in need, and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, who said: It is more blessed to give than to receive."
1.- The giving brings us even closer to Christ. (Matthew 6:21) "
(Matthew 6:21) "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
2.- Giving helps us to develop a Christian character. (Phil.2: 5 onwards) "Let this feeling be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus ..."
3.- Giving allows us to accumulate our treasures in heaven. (Matthew 6:20) "But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust corrupts, and where thieves do not break in and steal."
4.- Result in an increase in the property of the giver. (Proverbs 11:24) "There are those who distribute, and more is added to them;
And there are those who retain more than what is fair, but come to poverty. "
It is important to know the recipients of our generosity. To whom?
1.- Give to the local church the ministers the Christian ministries and workers (Numbers 18:21) "And behold, I have given to the sons of Levi all the tithes in Israel for an inheritance, for their ministry, for that they serve in the ministry of the meeting tabernacle. "
2.- Give to the poor. (Proverbs 14:31 "He who oppresses the poor dishonors his Maker;
But he who is kind to the needy honors him".
