The pocket ball, are units of transport Pokémon, his principal use is to capture Pokémon in wild state to be transported later inside the same one. To capture it, a Trainer must throw the Pokébolas directly at it, catching it with a powerful beam and storing it inside. If the Trainer succeeds in catching it, the Pokémon will obey his orders and may be used in battles or contests from now on.

Red pocket balls with targets are usually used to catch low-level Pokémon, and the chances of them failing the capture attempt increase the higher the level.

The blue with white called Super Ball is better than the previous pocket ball. It increases the chances of catching the Pokémon when it's thrown, so it can be used to catch slightly stronger Pokémon.
