The light moon is so beautiful ,It has Soo many significance such as. religious, cultural, scientifically. etc. Am sure. Before I finish this write up we will be able to explain what I understand by the few significance of the moon I listened about.

Before I start, let's look at what we understand by the word moon. The Moon is seen as the only Earth's natural satellite. That is according to science, they see the moon as a satellite, that it is the largest natural satellite in the Solar System relative to the size of a major planet.
Religiously Christians believe that the moon God made the moon light to govern the night and the sun to govern the day.while Muslim believe that the new moon which is the light moon was created by God to guide the world, that is the
The moon that protects the world. And the new moon marks the end of Ramadan (fasting period) .
Years back when I was coming up our grandfather told us that the moonlight has So many meaning in our traditional, which one was for new yam, that whenever the moon light is out and it is very bright the king of our village will call all elders of our land, they will go to farm and pray and the king will enter the farm he choices to enter, ding the yam farm and bring out yam, and it was mostly biggest yam in that farm, and if the yam is small, it shows that the moon was not happy with land that year and sacrifices will mad to moon.

Secondly was that the moon light was used in the village mostly by women who could not give birth, they made sacrifices to moon light , it was believed by them that the moon light gives children, and our grandfather gave us the reason why all women usually go to the moon for it. "That if u look at the moon light very well it is like a woman is inside carrying a babe". The belief was that the woman inside the Moon have So many babies so whenever any woman cries naked without wearing any clothes, she realizes one of the babies for the woman.

And even if a child was sick and all herbs were not working on the child's health condition, the mother will take the child to the moon when the moon light is out, both the mother and the child will be naked before the Moon light. The mother will cry looking at the moon and the child will be healed and if the child is not healed , it was believed that the child was not the biological child of the father.
The moon light was also used in the community for guidance, direction. Whenever there was a problem in the community, the people under the leadership of the king would go, knee down, look at the Moonlight, pray and ask for directions or help in whatever they were looking for.
If we look at all the significance, it shows that the moon is for guidance, protection of the people.
