I live in an island. It means that for islanders the only way to go out of our home is by plane or by boat. Particularly, most of the time I prefer to do it by boat. The crossing takes between 3 and 7 hours depending on where on the continent you want to go. Travelling by boat is always much more relaxed than by plane, in all cases you arrive almost at the centre of your destination city and above all, it gives you time to mentally organise your trip, with more peace of mind. It is a different philosophy of travel.
Normally the boats leave towards the mainland early in the morning, which gives you the opportunity to take photos in good light and this is the case of the shot I am submitting to the contest #aroundtheworld only one picture competition. A picture taken at the exit of the port of Ibiza from the top of the boat that was taking us to Barcelona for a short holiday.
Unless stated otherwise, all the pictures and the words are mine.
