When toes break,
When does ache;
When putting on socks
feels liks walking on rocks
One definitely begins to appreciate healthy feet
So I do not know when it happened, but I do seem to have broken a toe. The second from left. The fourth toe. Or the second. Depends on which way one counts, I suppose. Either way. It has been aching for about a week and not getting better.
I feel like a privileged prince whining about it. Others have suffered worse. Hell, I have suffered worse - I once flew off a motorbike and suffered compound fractures of both bones in my left fore arm - but this hurts like hell. One does not appreciate just how important all digits of one's feet are - even the small ones - until one of them takes a break from health. I've spent the last several days walking around in slippers - even outside - because my shoes hurt.
And it doesn't look like my left arm, with it's. matching surgery scars on both sides - the surgeon had to repair both bones, after all.
It's not on the verge of needing to be severed, at least. So there's that.
Still, hurts like hell.
Keep your feet happy! They'll serve you well.
