It has been awhile since I have posted a Weekend Experience here. It isn't that I haven't had a weekend - I've both had and enjoyed as many as everyone else - I have just.. well.. I've not posted. Been busy.

Weekends do continue to be a big part of my existence. In large part, weekends are when I try to spin up my side hustles. And spend time with the family. And do house chores. And projects. And improvement. Shopping. Laundry. Etc.

Now, some time ago, @galenkp and I had a brief exchange about cutting down trees. I have a large one - at least 50 feet tall - in the backyard that does need to come down sometime. I dont' want to spend $2,000 or more to do it, so I considered getting back in touch with my inner child to find a way to cut it down myself. Galen talked some sense into me and I didn't.

But that isn't holding me back from hacking down some of the smaller 10 foot ones.

Lookit this carnage.

I was originally going to take a saw and hatchet to it until my neighbour politely reminded me that he has a gas powered chainsaw I could borrow. Now we're talking! That must have saved me hours.

This particular tree was a pine tree. It is no more. But it still smells just as good. Seriously, my front yard still smells like Christmas! I enjoyed doing this so much I'm now looking for trees to take down; I've got my eyes set on two more that have been pissing me off. I'll show them!

After sawing and dragging and probably laughing at least somewhat maniacally, I pulled out a shovel for some additional, last minute work. And. Well. That didn't work too well. Not for the shovel anyway.
